Remember God’s Promises When You Pray

The Lord’s Prayer

"This, then, is how you should pray"

Our Father in heaven:

May your holy name be honored;

May your Kingdom come;

May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need.

Forgive us the wrongs we have done,

As we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.

Do not bring us to hard testing,

But keep us safe from the Evil one."

Prayer is critical, it's our lifeline to spiritual power, it's America's lifeline to same.

The National Day of Prayer is coming up in May. May 1st or 3rd, I've read both, so not sure which is right. I just got finished reading an article about it.

A quote from the late Leonard Ravenhill who was a perceptive observer of our time: "The self-sufficient do not pray, the self-satisfied will not pray, the self-righteous cannot pray."

Hope that does not apply to any of us. Please pray for this year's critical elections.

Let's all remember the words of Abraham Lincoln in 1863 when he proclaimed a National Day of Fasting, Humiliation and Prayer, "It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, to pray for clemency and forgiveness."

These words seem so very appropriate for us today. Thanks!
