The Macbook Pro, It's all about the Pros

Considering that my family has been part of the Macintosh era for five years I figured that it was time for me to review their products. This review is solely over the Macbook Pro 13.3 inch with the 2.53 Ghz and 4 GB of ram. I received a Macbook for my graduation present, it was the Macbook 13.3 inch with only 2.4 Ghz but only a week later, Apple came out with a whole new line of laptops, faster, more powerful, better battery life and they were cheaper. This is the reason I have a hate and love relationship with Apple, because I love when they come out with new stuff but I hate when my stuff becomes the old news. So I took my Macbook in to the store and they gladly exchanged mine for the new Macbook Pro version. This computer is not only sleek in design but it also has a great display, backlit keyboard, firewire port and let's not forget about the beyond easy to use, multi touch trackpad. This laptop not only looks great on the outside but on the inside it has a 2.53 Ghz processor and 4 GB of ram which is sensational. The built in camera isn't so bad either.

Performance

Right out of the box, this laptop surpassed my expectations. I started right away on the internet, with a handful of pages open, I never was able to notice any delay even though the whole time I was surfing, a massive update was being downloaded. It never ceased to amaze me. Despite having multiple applications open, it never seemed to slow down and no applications ever unexpectedly quit on me, I did not have to manually quit out of any of them because they were not working. The thing that amazed me most was its performance on a massive online game with hd settings. It handled it with great ease and I believe that it is truly one of the better laptops out there. The nvidia graphics card seems to do wonders and display a very clean picture no matter what I am doing. The performance of this machine is outstanding. The best part about this machine is that even with all of these amazing features running, you can use it for up to 7 hours without having to charge.

Usability

For years and years Apple has strived to make their computers the most user friendly. With their new line of Macbooks i believe that they have ultimately succeeded. All of the laptops are preloaded with ILife and Mac OS X Leopard which seems to be the most user friendly experience ever. When you own a Macbook, there is no need to have any prior experience with computers. The initial setup can be run by anyone that knows how to click buttons, it runs you through all the things necessary to get your computer up and running in no time. Let me just say that popular expression, "It's so easy a baby could do it." And in reality as long as you are able to read the boxes that pop up and click the continue button, you will be able to operate not only this mac, but also any other mac out on the market. Both Expose and Spaces make it easy for the user to keep track of all of the windows that they have open. In spaces you can separate each Safari window or each Microsoft Word window into their own space with ease. Expose allows you to press a single button and see all of the windows that you have open instantly and navigate with great ease. It is the ultimate in usability.

The final aspect of the Macbook Pro that I wish to talk about is the portability of the laptop. At .95 inches, the thickness of the Macbook Pro is just less than one inch, 12.78 inches wide and just under 9 inches in depth. Though these aspects are astounding, the most astounding thing of all and the thing that makes it easily portable is its weight. It weighs merely 4.5 pounds, which is quite amazing considering all this laptop withholds on the inside. 4.5 pounds is about 10 pounds less than most textbooks that a student would cary with them in their backpack so this laptop is definite college student friendly. It is easily carried with in any standard backpack without taking up too much space. It is the ultimate portable laptop.

Overall, this laptop is the ultimate in usability, portability and utility. It is not only a powerful laptop but also a laptop with beautiful aesthetics. It truly is one of the most versatile and user friendly laptops. From photographers, to video editors, to businessmen, to students; it is great for all of them. You can use iPhoto for all of your photos, iMovie for editing videos, the fast processing speed for checking all of your stocks and the backlit keyboard makes it easy for any student to type when the professor turns the lights off to view a slideshow or in your business meeting when your boss turns out the lights to view a business report. The Macbook Pro is fast and sleek and if you are looking for a user friendly laptop with great processor speed and a great amount of RAM, the Macbook Pro is what you want.
