What are Tattoos?

Tattoos are made by inserting ink several layers under the skin to create marks on one's body for one reason or another. There are many different types of Tattoos . Some Tattoos are permanent make-up , Eyeliner, lip liner, ect...The Tattoos of ancient tribes were signs of manhood, womanhood, even social status within a tribe. The art of Tattooing is extremely old and has been practised the world over for various reasons. The Tattooing of today in the United States and various other countries as form of self expression and art on ones body has of recent become an accepted art by many in today's world and the younger generations. Many people you would not expect to have Tattoos do these days. I personally have seen people in ALL walks of life in Tattoo parlors , or having a Tattoo done by a professional in their home. It seems that this art form has a magical air about it. It is a way of expressing ones self vehemently . To feel so strongly about something or LOVE something so much that you would have it written or drawn on your body in a permanence that will never go away but live as long as you do.

Who are you?

One thing is for sure, Tattoos can tell alot about 'who' a person is. You can tell many things about a person by their Tattoos. Personality traits, Astrological signs (birthdays), what they love or hate, Who they love or loved once, Who they wanted to be, even where they have been in the world or where they have been in life. Tattoos can be dreams. Dreams of life, the life someone wants, the personality they wish they had, the things they wish were real, the things they are looking forward to becoming. Tattoos can be empowering, enlightning works of true art. They are total commitment to who you are, your goals , dreams, wishes, and accomplishments. Tattoos are a way to scream ,"LOOK!! LOOK and you will see ME!"

WHY? The Taboo of Tattoo

Every generation has had those who believe that Tattoos are bad. The stigma that has surrounded tattoos has been for many that Tattoos are for Bikers, and convicts, and the undesireable under class, yet the art of tattooing has only grown stronger in the united states over the decades. When once you only saw young people getting tattoos now you see people of all ages and all walks of life getting them . With each generation they have become more widely accepted as an art form . There are hundreds if not thousands of commercial Tattoo parlors all over the United States. There are siminars ,conventions and contests. The population of people opposing tattoos is now a minority as we march into the 21st century . Judging from the growing acceptance of tattoos there will be a world someday where it will be totally accepted and the people opposing this art will be few. For those reading this who oppose Tattoos, just know that under the constitution of the United States of America we are granted the inalianable right to 'the pusuit of happiness' which means if someone wants to tattoo their entire body from head to toe and it is lawfully done and it makes them happy they have the right to do it without your laws and lobbying against it. Be disdainful all you want but tattooing has been here forever and so it will carry on with or without your approval! After all , have you seen everyone you know without their clothes on? People you know and care about have them , your boss and co workers have them, and your daughters and sons have them .They just cover them up to gain your approval and stay on your good side:) It's a shame that they have to cover up who they really are to please you!

Self Expression

For those of you with Tats ,and you know who you are, you also know that tattoos are like lays potato chips you can't get just one. Tattoos are definately addicting! As opposed to some of the other things you could get addicted to tattoos are the wondeful end of the spectrum. Live life to the fullest , look at your tatoos everyday to remember the lessons they have taught you and most of all TATTOO ON!!!
