I am starting a series of hubs dedicated to charm bracelets, starting off with many charms of Pandora Jewelry. I am most familiar with Pandora charm bracelets and feel I can make a good presentation of the different types of charms that they have to offer.

I am not an expert by any means, but I am hoping that this can be a kind of series starting off with Pandora Charms and going onto other charms such as Italian charms, Chamila Charms, Troll beads etc.

Basically through a series of hubs I will highlight the following categories of Pandora Charms, and give suggestions and ideas of how to best wear them, covering one or two types with each hub. While this is not a Capstone Hub, I am attempting to see if I can create something similar as a personal challenge, and more importantly as a source of information to others who are interested in learning more about Pandora and other Charm Jewelry.

Here is a list of the basic, general classifications of Pandora bracelet charms available currently today.

  • Alphabet Beads
  • Animal Beads
  • Birthstone Beads
  • Enamel Beads
  • Flower and Nature Beads
  • Food Beads
  • Holiday Beads
  • Love Beads
  • Murano Glass Beads
  • Spacers
  • Safety Beads

Aside from these beads, Pandora also sells other types of jewelry, not only bracelets, including necklaces, earrings, toe rings and rings. All of it is expertly made and some of the most charming and enchanting jewelry I've seen.

Bracelet Ideas

One idea when creating a bracelet, is to color cordinate the beads. Some delightful color coordinations I've seen have been green and red, black and white, all Sterling silver beads.

To the right you can see an example of a color and charm coordinated bracelet. In this bracelet primary colors are brown and gold, and there is a recurring pattern of the charms themselves which gives a lovely symetrical look to the bracelet.

What is it that People Love About Pandora Jewelry?

There's no doubt about it, Pandora Charms have taken the jewelry world by storm ever since their appearance on the jewelry scene. Pandora charms were first marketed in Denmark in 1999. They quickly achieved popularity and their market expanded, till now they purport to be sold in 18 countries worldwide. Of course, with the ease and convenience of internet marketing and buying from online jewelry shops, Pandora bead jewelry can now be bought in any country worldwide. While Pandora jewelry was initially crafted in Denmark, once sales increased and the jewelry became more in demand, production was moved to a factory in Thailand where it is currently manufactured.

One thing that endears Pandora charm bracelets especially to its wearers is the ability to custom-make the bracelets. In this way, the bracelet or other jewelry becomes a very personal expression to the wearer, with certain individual charms relating to personal experiences in their life's journey.

For the fashion conscious, beads can be swapped around on the bracelet to give a totally different look and feel to the bracelet, meaning that if you have a selection of different beads the bracelets can be changed to fit one style or dress standard or another. For example, beads could be especially chosen to give the bracelet a flowery, spring touch. Then, if being worn to a more formal occasion later in the evening, different beads could be chosen. Charms can be color coordinated to match the outfit, or they can reflect the activity being undertaken at a specific time. There's no end of ways to mix and match the beads and to come up with a totally different bracelet at any time.

And aside from that, the other reason the beads are so popular is because each bead is a finely crafted masterpiece. The charms are not cheap, but they are very well made. Some are stunningly beautiful while others are very cute and adorable replications of either children's toys or characters, or everyday items.

There's something for everyone, no matter what age, and for every occasion.

How to Open A Pandora Bracelet

Opening the Pandora Bracelet

Pandora Bracelets are a bit tricky to open, unless you know how. I am including above a demonstration video that shows you exactly how to go about opening your Pandora bracelet.

Basically, you have to slip your fingernail inbetween the clasp and pop it open.  It's not as difficult as it seems and once you've done it a time or two its fairly easy to keep doing.

Of course, if you'd prefer not to have to worry with opening and closing the clasp in order to get the bracelet off you can wear it 'bangle style' so that it slips off over your hand easily.

I am always so impressed with your hubs. Just wish I could make them as well. I never get my images to align the way I want like you do. Anyway I digress as usual, the jewelry here is gorgeous. What would we do without beautiful jewelry?
