Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

What is the Meaning of Love

It seems Love is one cosmic force that really can not be described in words. For some people Love is a word they use when they really like something others only see it has a tennis or squash score. I've seen love, I've felt love, I've been loved, I have loved. When my boy asked me how he will know when he's in love I was left speechless. All I could say is what I always got told, " Oh you will know when it happens." I guess I know now why everybody says that. They know what it is they just can't describe it.

I've Felt Love

It was just an ordinary Friday in October and I was just being a third grade boy goofing around in class. The state trooper appeared out of no where and told my teacher he needed to talk to me. I felt panic sink in. It was only a pack of gum and I was sure no one saw me take it. I never realized how long of a walk it was to the hallway. Out in the hallway my sister was waiting too. Before we could speak the trooper told us we had to go with him because your mom needs you at home.

Both of us being scared to death we did not say a word the whole way home. At our house cars were parked every where and there was hoards of people on the porch and in the yard. When the trooper brought us in my mom swooped us up along with my other two younger sisters. I could see by the tears in her eyes and the way she held us tight that it wasn't going to be good. She was finally able to speak and all I remember her saying is,"Kids your dad was killed in a car accident this morning."

I know it sounds tragic but amongst all that chaos has my mom held us tight, a warmth came over us kids. Everyone in the room seen what we felt. A thirty year old mother of four surrounding her kids in Love telling them without words that whatever happens today, tomorrow and even the day after tomorrow they were going to be alright.

Fast forward thirty years, that young mother was getting ready to end a ten year journey with cancer. Has my brother,(mom remarried once for a couple years) two of my sisters and I stood by her bedside the doctors talked amongst themselves wondering why she was holding on, not wanting to let go. Even though they said she was in coma you could see her face grimace in pain. I know why she was holding on, my sister from Hawaii had not made it in yet. Then with the opening of a door, a touch from a familiar tan hand and a kiss on the forehead, she took one last deep breath and embarked on a new journey.

Before the tears could fall a familiar warmth engulfed us five kids. Has I looked over at my little brother I could see he felt for the first time what his siblings experienced thirty years ago. A young mother of five surrounding her kids in Love telling them without words its going to be alright.

Leaving her room I seen love in the tears of the family and friends lining the hallways. They to had felt the warmth of her love and has we walked by, they seen five kids holding their kids letting them know without words it was going to be alright.

I'm sure by now your still wondering, what is the meaning of love? I personally think love exist because of life. God created us to take care of, look after, love what He created. What did God create? God created life.
