The Sweepstakes

Let the sweepstakes begin for the most desired player in recent history since King Lebron James. Welcome, Michael "Beast" Beasley! Since the 2008 NBA Draft is approaching rather quickly let's see if I can explain to everyone who is actually in the running for the number (1) one pick overall in the draft and a chance to change the entire outlook of their franchise with one player. Michael Beasley (6' 10" at 235 lbs) was clearly the best college basketball player in the nation this year posting incredible numbers with 26.5 pts, 12.5 rebs, and while shooting well over .50 from the field. It is no secret why NBA general managers are itching to get one of the most promising young stars the NBA could ever see.

If Mr. Beasley declares for the draft which many people feel he will, this is the breakdown of who could win the Michael Beasley Sweepstakes.

1st Tier Teams to land Beasley

Miami Heat- Dwyane Wade, Shawn Marion, and potentially Mr. Beasley spells a franchise revival. He could develop very well as the 3rd option as a rookie and could push as high as the 2nd best player on the team behind Dwade. Great Suitation for Beasley's career.

Minnesota Twolves- Al Jefferson is the man in Minnesota but not if Bealsley comes aboard, still not the best fit for him. Twolves would draft him though. It is an okay fit for him but that western conference is so tough.

Memphis Grizzles- Not a great suituation for Beasley and I doubt Grizzles would draft him with Mike Miller, Rudy Gay, and Hakim Warrick all who are forwards as well. Bad fit for Beasley.

Seattle SuperSonics- Kevin Durrant's is the franchise and if Beasley comes aboard might spell controvesy. I see much better places for Beasley to land and I doubt they would draft him especially with Durrant and Jeff Green as the cornerstones in place already.

2nd Tier Teams to land Beasley

New York Knicks- Forget about it!! Knick fans no way you guys land Beasley much less draft him. Terrible fit for Beasley.

LA. Clippers- There is a possiblity Clippers land him and I would like the promising core of Elton Brand, Chris Kaman, and Beasley. Good overall fit for Beasley.

Milwaukee Bucks- What a long shot for this team and I don't think he would match the roster in Bucks Town. Beasley isn't going to be a Milwaukee Buck.

Charlotte Bobcats- One of the best potential places to be for Michael Beasley. Bobcats are a good young team with Raymon Felton, Emeka Okafor, Gerald Wallace, and Adam Morrison as their core. Michael Beasley could be the 1st true superstar for this young franchise.

3rd Tier Teams to land Beasley (not a chance)

Indiana Pacers- Would be nice to land him especially with Jermaine O'neal on the decline, Pacers need a star to team up with Danny Granger. Sorry but isn't going to happen Pacer fans.

Chicage Bulls- Like the bulls need more talent on that roster how about a true star and leader like Beasley. It sounds amazing but isn't going to happen.

Phoenix Suns- This would be the definition of truly winning the lottery. Shaq, Steve Nash, Amare, and Beasley would be a dream team for many years. Phoenix would start a dynasty again in the NBA but very unlikely to happen.

Sacramento Kings- Great fit for Beasley but not a chance to happen. Ron Artest, Brad Miller, Kevin Martin, and the Kings will continue to remain average at best.

Portland Trailblazers- Keep dreaming Blazers Fans! Oden and Brandon Roy should be enough for your team.

Denver Nuggets- I don't think so and luckily for Carmelo Anthony he will not have to worry about Beasley taking his franchise label.

Good Luck to all the participants in the Michael Beasley Sweepstakes and mark my exact Words Michael Beasley will be a franchise player and great star in the NBA for many years to come. May the ping pong balls fall where they may..

The article was good, but i would not agree with the "right" vs "wrong" fit. You have to remember, with Beasley's size, he could be used as a 4, so a young team of Durant, Green, and Beasley would develop into a great team like the Bulls were last year with that young team. Also, don't compare Beasley to King James. Beasley is good but not great, yet! King James and Dwight Howard are the best #1 picks in the past years, whereas Bogut and others don't compare and don't live up to the hype.

Michael Beasley is one the best rookies this year, but why is it that he's not included in the top 5 rookies as what I have read in Yahoo NBA news? Derrick Rose is the rookie of the year and the second placer is O.J. Mayo. Beasley for sure will definitely gonna improve next season.
