The Most Effective Weight Loss Approach I Have Ever Tried
54So You Want to Lose Weight?
Many people do. I am once again one of those who do. However, what I am going to share now is an approach I used in the past that allowed me to safely, and effectively shed more than seventy pounds in about seven months.
Best of all it is very easy to do. This approach will work for men or women, though I frankly think that this approach, like many others, is easiest for men.
This approach does not use supplements, special foods, or require you to buy any sort of equipment, though I might make a suggestion about a couple of things you might want to look into.
Let's Get Real
Before you begin this approach, I will tell you it is both safe and effective, but there is one criterion you really have to meet to make this work. If you do not meet this criterion I can tell you right this moment that this approach will definitely not work for you.
What is this special condition? Simple. You have to be committed to losing the weight. I know that sounds ridiculous, but think about it. How many times have you tried to lose weight only to have the attempt fail. What caused that?
If you will be honest, and I know because this applies to me, the reason is looking back at you in the mirror. You have to be committed to actually following the advice I give you here you will not be successful. Examine what is going to happen if you do not lose the weight. Lack of self esteem, and self confidence, continued weight related problems, possibly diabetes, a shorter life span. What do these things mean to you and your family?
If you decide you have the commitment then read on in the next section. If not, then bookmark or favorite this hub and come back when you have that commitment, that need to drop the weight.
Let's Get This Party Started
Now you are ready. You have made the commitment to do it, to actually lose the weight.
The simple fact is that most people, excepting for metabolic disorders, primarily consume too many calories every day and burn too few calories every day. Simple, hunh? I bet you are saying "I already KNEW that!" True, but what are you doing about it?
Try the approach I am going to tell you about next for one month. Make a commitment to it and tell someone else about it. Better yet get your spouse, or best friend, someone from whom you can take, and give supportive criticism, to commit with you.
Now, according to most dietetic guidelines, your daily intake of fat should represent no more than 30% of your total calories each day. For many people who are overweight this is the single largest problem. You are eating too many calories each day and most of that exceeds that 30% from fat as recommended.
What I suggest is easing into this. Many people begin a program and it is such a radical change in their lifestyle that they are not motivated enought to stick with it. For this first month you are not going to worry about counting calories for intake. At first you are only going to shop smart. You are going to read the labels of the food you buy. On the label it tells you how many calories come from fat and how many servings are contained within the packaging.
Take a calculator if you need it. Divide the number of calories from fat by the total calories in the food. If the result is more .33, or 33% then do not buy that food!
That is pretty simple, and will help you stick to your commitment. If the food you have does not exceed your guideline it is easier to stay on track. For one month buy your food, and eat only what you get following this guideline. You should see some results in you weight.
I know some folks are lamenting that this is still a major change. For instance if you have a sweet tooth you know that most candy bars you check are going to come in the range of 50 percent or more of their calories from fat. Despair not, confectionary connoisseur! Some candy bars and such will fall within your guidelines! I give you the fluffy sweetness of the Three Musketeers Bar. Check it out. 240 calories, 60 calories from fat. That means 25% of its calories are from fat and it falls within your guidelines.
In summary, choose healthy foods, check the labels for calories from fat divided by total calories. If the percentage of calories from fat is over 1/3 or 33% do not buy the food. Leave it in the store. Try this for one month and see what happens to your weight.
Ready for the next level?
If You Want More Dramatic Results...
Add exercise to this formula. This does not require any fancy equipment. I used push ups, regular, and after a while inclined, and a full set of ab exercises. I started slowly at first, and then increased my reps, and sets gradually each day.
Warning 1: if you have any health issues, or any question of your physical fitness always consult your personal physician before beginning any exercise regimen.
Warning 2: If you do add the exercise component, and I recommend it if you can, your weight loss will happen faster, but you WILL get sore as you begin the regimen. Be prepared, and ready. Work through it, and you will see results.
This program is not hard, but it is not that easy either. Whereas there are no special things to buy, and I can speak from experience that it can have dramatic positive effects it does take a commitment on your part. If you make it ahead of time your success is much more likely.

I have lost weight with moderation in diet and periodic exercises. Good first step is to analyze our present routine and then make the changes which fits in with our life style.
