7 Girls Enter Rehab for Being Mean- Queen Bees the New Reality TV Show

New Reality Show on The N
Though you won’t find me parked on the couch, my cheeks bulging with bon-bons, I confess that I occassionally succumb to some pretty mindless television. And as far as my interest in reality tv shows, I can't help but feel like I am witnessing some kind of twisted human experiment.
Last week I fell victim to a new reality show called QUEEN BEES , on The N. The first episode aired last Friday, and I immediately found myself being lured in by the show’s premise. Though I don’t think that the title really does the show justice. A more enticing and accurate name for the show might be Mean Girls Rehab.
Meet the Queen Bees
There are seven Queen Bees on the show: Brittany, Camille, Gisbelle, Kiana, Michelle, Shavon, and Stassi. All of the girls were nominated by someone close to them, such as parents, siblings, friends and boyfriends. I have to give the producers credit for getting these girls to do the show. Imagine telling a bunch of mean girls they’ve been nominated to be on a reality show because they’re mean. It’s a shame they didn’t get the footage of that.
Premise of the Show
Whether they are in the house or the van, the girls are being watched at all times. There is also a therapist there, Dr. Michelle, from the Tyra Banks Show. The girls are given the opportunity to open up about the reasons for their behavior. At the end of each episode, the girls have the oppportunity to lose, keep, or gain stars for positive/negative progress. The cast member who earns the most stars wins $25,000.
For All the Mean People Out There...Do You Need Rehab?
I will be the first to admit that this show is very similar to all the other formulaic reality tv shows. But if even one of these girls decided to embrace the path to niceness, there is a shred of merit to the show's premise. The world would definitely be a better place with one less coniving, mean person. So, if you're mean, maybe watching the girls' progress could help you see the error of your ways . During the therapy sessions with Dr. Michelle, it becomes clear that some of these girls have some serious heavy baggage to unload. They say that 90% of a person's problems can be traced to their inablity to get over the past. If that's true, working through the past with the therapist on the show could really help alleviate some of that meaness.
For All the Nice People Out There...
If you're already nice, never fear, there's something in Queen Bees for you too. Gaining a deeper insight as to why people behave the way they do can be so empowering. I always find it reassuring to know why someone acts mean. That way, I don't feel the need to take everything so personally. It actually compels me to work that much harder to pour on the kindness. As my mom always says, 'you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar '.
What Do YOU Think of Queen Bees ?
I'm sure there are some of you out there who think its just another reality show. I'm curious to know your thoughts.

How can I get someone close to me on the show.. She is so mean... She needs a change... thanks
i watched the show queen bee and was at first like this must be a low income reality show, not much funding for this one. but i became so engrossed in it, and the underlying message it offered. I didnt get to see the finale, but i knew Gisbelle would come out strong b/c she really seemed to embrace the whole process and want to change and thats what its about. yoanna and dr michelle were very professional even with clear lack of resources and the show in my book was a sucess. next season i hope it is advertised more, so i can know when to watch and also they should increase the money, that is too little for people putting themselves out there.
I love stassi!! Its all I can say..(**,)

I watched the 1st few episodes of this show, but i think i've missed one or 2. I couldn't remember what night and what channel it was on! That's what i was looking for when i found this page. I think it's a pretty amusing show. Most of these girls are pretty evil, so hopefully it will help them change before kharma turns around and bites!! Like the one girl, i think its Gisbelle, she brags about pretending to be prego for 3 months then pretending to miscarry so her boyfriend would spoil her, give her extra attention, and then they got to "mourn" together. She keeps laughing about it, and i think thats disgusting! Does she really think he'll stay with her once he sees that, esp. her laughing at his expence?! Also, they were all told they were in a contest to see who was the prettiest/biggest diva; thats how they got them there, haha. Enjoy!
