It was a blessed eve, where the night in depth explores, When the nightingale from on a star-lit bough Dispersed that tender song upon the shadows hear. And wheels of passion turn within a lover's vow, Where the lustrous moon jewels the sky with golden fire. And beneath the stars serenely bright, befell love written, Where the crimson sea ascends and plays in tune, With every high note of heavens climes. And laurel groves, hold in honor, Where my hearts rich endowments, Sustain my love in fair array. And that very hour twilight became my host, By windings blue, sacred shores, and accustomed skies. Where the eyes of dawn, reigned in beauty.
