The North American Union: One Conglomeration Under God?
69
The What?
The North American Union is a plan to unify Canada, Mexico and the United States. First, through super-highways like The Trans-Texas Corridor followed by the NAFTA super highway which will reach into the very heart of the United States. Eventually the plan is to completely unify the three countries, government, economy, and all. Anyone that brings up the negatives about this idea is labeled an isolationist.
Notice that this is not something you are hearing about on the nightly news. For middle America the idea is a surprisingly new one, although it has been in the works for a very long time. Any information right now is centered on Texas, because the Trans-Texas Corridor is the foot in the door for NAU, and after all, it is only one state. Anyone living in other areas will dismiss it as unimportant.
But the NAU is important to know about. Since the 1960s, and maybe before, Americans have been losing their constitutional rights the way small boys lose pocket change. They see something shiny and grab for it, unthinkingly dropping the more valuable object in the process. Our religious rights have been eroded, our rights of free speech, unless we belong to a special interest group, are being eroded, and the NAU seeks to incorporate governments into our own that have no interest in the United States other than what she can give them.

How Does It Work?
The North American Union will effectively erase our borders with Canada and Mexico. It is laid out in a plan created in March of 2005, in Waco, Texas where President Bush met with Canadian Prime Minister, Paul Martin and Mexican President, Vincente Fox. The plan is called The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. The SSP provides an outline to create unity between the countries in areas like security, transportation, public health, environmental issues and the like.
During this summit, at the signing of the SSP the countries agreed to the following things-
North American Trusted Traveler Program. This will be in place by 2008. Basically it means that people applying for trusted traveler status would be able to enroll in a program that gives them access to all established lanes at land crossings, airports and sea and water ports. No more customs inspections. While this may or may not have an effect on the casual traveler, trucking companies are going to love this. And, my guess is, so are the South American drug cartels.
Preparedness and Incident Management Systems Integration. Remember how FEMA is messing up? Well within 12 months a tri-country initiative will mean that FEMA will no longer exist in it's current form, but will have morphed into even a greater monster than it all ready is. This system will also address maritime incidents, cross-border public health emergencies and cross-border law enforcement response. There will be exercises to help prepare for security for large events, like the Olympics in 2010.
Border Enforcement. Sorry this one made me laugh. Why do we need to enforce the border controls if there are no borders? The United States will partner with Mexico to share intelligence gathering information to handle the trafficking and gang activity on the border. Right. Were you aware that our own National Guard was told NOT to shoot when they were protecting the border? There was not alot of media coverage on that mess but a little sleuthing on the Internet should help you find the information. It was amazing.
Facilitated Flow of Legitimate Cargo and Travel Across Land Borders-here in the south we have always just called this Good Ole Boy Politics, basically you help me and 'll help you and everyone else can whistle.
Shared Watchlists and Integrated Traveler Screening Procedures. This one bothers me more than most of them. If you are labeled as a suspicious person you will be labeled in all three countries. This includes the increased use of biometrics (fingerprinting). Define suspicious? Just because I don;t seem like a suspicious character today does not mean that ideas and rules won't change to include me tomorrow. Feasibly religious preferences could label one are suspicious, as could one's political opinion.
Maritime and Aviation Security - basically just more of the same as above but with the focus on sea/water travel and air travel.
It IS Real
Do Our Politicians Care?
Some are actively fighting against this.Congressman Ron Paul , R-Texas, is calling NUA a threat to national sovereignty. It is his argument that these decisions are not being made by our congressmen as set up in our Constitution but by a handful of elite special interest groups.
Congressman Virgil Goode, R-Va, has introduced a resolution, that states that the US should not take part in the construction of the super highway or come into agreement with the NUA.
Oddly enough I found websites that were calling the superhighway and the NUA am urban legend. It seems a poor attempt by someone to cover the truth and lull the people of the United States into a false sense of security. Surely it can't happen here. A few letters typed in the google search box will bring up a number of interesting sites that say differently.
Do You Care?
How many rights do you need to have taken away before you realize that you are becoming enslaved and chained by regulations?
- Gun control has crossed the lines of safety and compromised the right to keep and bear arms which is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
- Freedom of religion is compromised as we are not allowed to pray in public, or set out a manger scene because someone might be offended.
- All of you information is either on your drivers license or about to be, depending on where you live. Social security numbers, everything.
- Eminent Domain laws are being abused and used to gain property unlawfully.
Oh there are more. And there will continue to be more until we, in the United States, care enough to say "enough".

WHAT!? a lifetime - that's too much.
Wow, I am amazed. What about the fence that Bush was talking about on the Mexican border? Great hub, I will be looking out for more of yours.
Mr. Mark Knowles made a great observation. When we hear one of the presidential candidates or any politician speak of protecting our borders, then we will know they are a phony and are deceiving us.
Would contribute to a political forum thread on this subject here on HubPages? I need new info. and it could spread the word more.
this is pure hogwash!
perhaps if you were in Texas and seeing the areas being cleared for the trans texas corridor you would feel differently. Perhaps if you were seeing farmers losing property to eminent domain you would feel differently.
Perhaps not.
