Six questions were about domestic policies and 7 questions were about foreign policies. The national televised press conference lasted for about an hour.
Here are quotes from President Barack Obama as he answered questions from the press. President Barack Obama answered a three fold question about how he felt being president in reference to his surprise, enchantment, troubled and being humbled.
President Barack Obama said that he was surprised by the amount of issues that he had to deal with. He said that these issues seems to be coming to a head at the same time. President Barack Obama said that he is sobered by the slowness with which change comes to Washington. President Barack Obama said that he was most "sobered by the fact that change in America comes slow. That there is still an quotient of political posturing and bickering that takes place even when we are in the middle of really big crisis." President Barack Obama said that he is enchanted by the military men and women who work for the country in military service. President Barack Obama said that he is humbled by the American people's patience with the many issues that his administration have had to deal with.

In last night's 100 day speech, President Barack Obama said that he is optimistic about the future of the U.S. auto industry. President Barack Obama said that he is "more hopeful that I was 30 days ago that we can see a resolution that maintains a viable Chrysler auto company out there after merging with the Italian auto maker Fiat; a deal that seems likely to go through." President Barack Obama said that he has no desire to run anything except the country. "I've got two wars that I have to run already," President Barack Obama said that he would like to run a lean government but that was not the hand he was given.
President Barack Obama said that "We are off to a good start" regarding his 100 days in presidential office. President Barack Obama said that he has put in place an end to the war in Iraq. He said that a timeline has been set concerning the war that he inherited from George W, Bush. President Barack Obama said that his administration has moved forward on remaking an economy brought on by the irresponsible borrowing of the Bush administration.
At a town hall meeting earlier in the day, President Barack Obama condemned waterboarding as torture. President Barack Obama says that such tactics "erodes the character of the country." President Barack Obama says that he believes the "American people overtime will recognize that it is better to stick to who we are, even when we are taking on an unscrupulous enemy."
President Barack Obama spoke of the importance of Americans although, it may sound like trivia to, "wash your hands" and keep sick people away from work and school to offset the swine flu. President Barack Obama detailed what Americans can do about the virus that originated from Mexico, twice during the press conference.
President Barack Obama said that he is pleased with the progress his administration has made but that he was not satisfied. President Barack Obama also said, "I am confident in the future, but I am not content with the present."
