The World of Warcraft is subdivided into two factions. These factions are known to be sworn enemies as the history of Warcraft is concerned. These two factions fight it out to death whenever their paths would cross. All throughout the game, you are given the choice between 10 playable races, each with different traits and abilities. These traits and abilities are to be used to your character’s advantage by learning the effects and when and where to use these abilities.

Each race is unique from the other; this makes World of Warcraft have a large variety of playable characters. You may think that all the races have access to every class. There are actually limitations as to the playable classes for each race is concerned. There are instances that the rogue class may only be available to this particular race but not on the other. This enables the World of Warcraft players to mix and match classes until they are able to create a character that would satisfy to their playing needs.

WoW Horde guides can be useful as to getting to know the races in the horde faction is concerned. Usually the description of each race tells you certain advantages and disadvantages with regards to each race. Each race is able to possess unique mounts or Racial mounts, each with different physical features.

Blood Elves – this is considered to be a proud race. The blood elves differ from the night elf race in the alliance faction. People in this race are fueled by grudge as they bring with them the hatred that they kept as the years went on. The blood elves are the survivors of the almost extinct elf race that was once under the control of an evil death knight. These survivors committed to take back what belongs to the race of the Blood Elves. Blood Elves are limited to the classes: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, and Warlock. Their mount is in the form of a Hawkstrider.

Orcs – they are probably one of the most famous races in the World of Warcraft. The orcs can be identified as creatures with green skin, a brutal aura and the bloodlust of a hundred soldiers. The orcs may seem to be all powerful and dominating, but looking back into their past, these brave warriors were once corrupted by the Burning Legion and they were instantly turned into slaves to serve during the Legion’s invasion. The available classes for the Orcs are: Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior. Their racial mount can be seen in the form of a Wolf.

Getting to know the races per faction can be very important so that you would be able to decide early whether you would pledge to the Alliance or fight for the Horde.
