Ka-ching… ka-ching… ka-ching … while you sleep.

Tim’s only ka-ching is the notices he get from his shopping cart, affiliate program , web host, credit card portal, auto responder provider because the shopping cart is getting blocked, etc. Then his credit card comes and there is $197 special deal price for the latest, very exclusive program he signed up for. The one you can’t live without if you are going to market on the internet. Tim’s ka-ching, ka-ching is like going the wrong way on a one way street, and Tim knows he is going the wrong way

What Eckhart Tolle might say to the struggling internet marketer or any new business owner.

Fast forward to today, Tim has purchased three how-to make millions on the internet training packages, gone to a few seminars, perfected several of his products, redone his website three times, and paid $10,000 for a logo and brand. For Tim that added up to thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars.

To be fair Tim has made a few sales. But mostly, Tim has accumulated enough frustration and despair to move into the stage where most people give up on their dream because the can only see hopelessness.

• What else do I have to do?

• Nothing is working for me!
• What’s wrong with me?
• I’ll never be able to do this stuff!
• My hard drive failed, I should just quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• If there was someone I could just pay to do this for me, but I’ve spent all my cash already......

The primary factor in creation is consciousness. No matter how active we are, how much effort we make, our state of consciousness creates our world, and if there is no change on that inner level no amount of action will make any difference. From A New Earth

You might imagine Tim’s response: ‘What are you talking about?’

The primary factor in your being a successful social marketer on the internet is consciousness. No matter how many programs you buy and do, how much effort your make or money you spend, your state of consciousness creates your world. And, if there is no change on that inner level no amount of time or money will make any difference.

Tim’s next question is “What is consciousness?”

Consciousness is awareness of yourself in every moment – awareness of your inner self, your inner strength, your inner purpose. In Buddhism there is a saying:

What do you do before enlightenment – chop wood and carry water

What do you do after enlightenment – chop wood and carry water

It’s not what you do but how you do it – your conscious awareness as you chop wood and carry water or do what you do in life. What mental/spiritual perspective you have as you live in the moment chopping wood and carrying water or marketing on the internet.

In more concrete terms, I might say that you have to develop a spirit-perspective about internet marketing and yourself as an internet marketer. Why are you doing internet marketing – for money, to share your knowledge with the world, to help others by giving them tools?

What makes you happy?

Yes, money can lead to comfort which leads to happiness, but making money just to make money will not make you happy.

For Tim it took listening to an 11 minute meditation at least once every day. Tim needed to create new neuropathway in his brain – a new mental habit. Tim rewired his brain. You update faulty wiring in your house; Tim did the same thing in his brain. If he didn’t he would still be stuck in the poor-me rut.
