The Perfect Banana Smoothie
One night after work I was desperately searching for a fresh and ice cold snack. I remembered I had ice cream in the freezer and had just bought bananas, so I began Googling Smoothie Recipes. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately since it led me to create this recipe), I could find not one recipe that I really enjoyed. So, after many tries and failures, I have developed The Perfect Banana Smoothie Recipe!
Preparation Time:
The time it takes for your favorite TV show to come back on after a commercial break!!
Serves:
This recipe serves 2 when poured into average size glasses.
Ingredients:
2 Ripe Bananas
2 Scoops Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
1/4 Tsp Vanilla
1 Handfull of Ice Cubes
1 Cup Whole Milk
3 Tsp Sugar
Whipped Cream
Cinnamon
Directions:
Drop Handfull of Ice Cubes into Blender. Drop 2 Scoops of Ice Cream into Blender. Pour 3 Tsp Sugar into Blender. Peel 2 Ripe Bananas. Cut them into smaller pieces and drop them into Blender. Pour 1/4 Tsp Vanilla into Blender. Pour 1 Cup Whole Milk into Blender. Blend until all lumps are gone.
Go ahead and splurge! Add a dollop of Whipped Cream and some Cinnamon to make your smoothie taste good AND look good!
Substitutions:
This smoothie can be altered in virtually anyway to make it healthier or even more fruity! Feel free to take this recipe and make it your own! Here are just some of the substitutions and alterations you can make:
Substitute Low Fat or Fat Free Milk for Whole Milk.
Substitute any type of Ice Cream for Vanilla in order to create your own unique smoothie!
Substitute Low Fat Ice Cream for Regular Ice Cream.
Substitute any type of fruit for Bananas, or add another type of fruit for your own fruity combination!
Substitute a Low Calorie Sweetner for Sugar, or nix the Sugar altogether.
If you'd prefer a fruitier taste, add an extra banana and go lighter on the Ice Cream.
