The Myths About Your Right To Vote

Right to Vote
Right to Vote

I encourage most of you to vote!

Don't misunderstand me; I encourage most of you to vote! With elections looming, the present race(s) in these United States of America is in a roller coaster free fall toward her change. It is both exhilarating and humorous to witness the ridiculous rantings of these political beasts, carnivorously cannibalizing each other while chanting with their choirs, "We want change!" Some voters are swooning, others swearing; many constituents are defending blatant falsehoods, others are providing fodder of hyperbole to further fatten these hungry monsters. I have witnessed those so absorbed with the emotional enthrallment of the ride that both republican and democrat lose all rationality like children arguing to the point of punches over whose daddy is the "bestest!"

My hub opinion (I coin the term "hubinion" for my hub opinion!) is that everyone should not have the right to vote. The "right" of everyone to vote is but propaganda so rank that rotting chicken smells like perfume when you honestly and objectively examine the veracity of our belief in this "right". As you study the history of our great nation, you learn that it was never intended to be run as a democracy but as a republic. I like this; I agree with it in total. This sacred system was devised, along with a complex system of checks and balances just in case some "little beast" voted who should not, or, perhaps, some bigger political beast cast influence far beyond (or too fast from) an acceptable outcome, that which should require deeper contemplation My hubinion smacks of irreverence to many views, but it is completely accurate which you will see as I lay out the reasons. If any disagree, you are free and encouraged to put your two cents of hubinion in the comments section below.

America has never believed that we all have the right to vote.

First, put this truth in your cannon before you gun me down: America has never believed that we all have the right to vote. I ask you, “Can children vote?” Do you want children to vote? It matters not a twit what age you (or we as a nation) select as an acceptable age to bestow this “right;” you are in automatic discrimination against humankind merely one year removed. Do you really believe that everyone should have the right to vote?

I am quite aware that I use absurdity to get my point across. However, I find equally ridiculous the inconsistencies of the use of such flowery language about your “right to vote” at election time and the gullible minnows that follow mindlessly into voting booths during such serious decision times. Your vote is so important to you that you sloppily half-punch your card in such a manner that some other “little beast” has to squint at your card to try to figure your intentions. How absurd!

A Closer Look at Your Right To Vote

Look at some of the restrictions that we have placed on the right to vote:

  1. Children do not have the right to vote.
  2. Illegal aliens do not have the right to vote
  3. Felons do not have the right to vote.
  4. Women have not always had the right to vote.
  5. Blacks have not always had the right to vote.
  6. There have been various restrictions over the years to voting based on education, wealth and other factors.

Americans never have believed that every vote should count!

Secondly, don’t put your cannon away yet – I have some more powder you can use for your salvo against me! Americans never have believed that every vote should count! Americans never will! We do not and never will elect a president by popular vote. For some this is sacrilege; for me it is sacred orthodoxy! My hubinion is that our founding fathers knew exactly what they were doing. If things were run completely by popular vote, we would all vote ourselves a raise, stealing the money through taxes from someone else till there would be no prosperity, no personal responsibility. Anarchy follows like children overdosing day after day on sugar. No! A thousand times, No! We need representatives that occasionally go against the popular tide to represent the common good so that I can be assured of my greater right to pursue happiness. No! We need local and state governments where the infrastructure of our great republic is built. No! We need electoral colleges and state delegations to give meaning and to offset popularism.

Look at a just few ways we have recently fought not to count every vote.

  1. In a past election the democrats insisted on counting “hanging chads” in Florida’s voting while at the same time tried to discount many of the military votes.
  2. More recently the republicans chose to count only half credit for Florida and Michigan delegations. I guess a half vote means they have a “half right.” This is a “real testament” to our belief in the right to vote!
  3. At the writing of this hub the democrats are not counting votes cast in Florida and Michigan. This smacks of hypocrisy to me!

Who Should Not Vote?

  1. The ideal of voting is a privilege that we exercise to find the best candidate! Anyone who would be voting simply to "give herself a raise" should not vote. If you don't think you are voting for the best candidate you should not vote.
  2. Anyone who is not willing to go out of his way a little (rise early, stay late, wait in line, etc.) should not vote. Voting is worth it! Sometimes “convenience” is over-played!
  3. Anyone not willing to shape an informed opinion as to whom is the best candidate should not vote. The best candidate is not the same as choosing the best candy. We should not vote for someone because they’re sweet, but because we see them as best to run our country or state or county.
  4. Anyone who is not willing to follow our laws should not vote. Enough said here.
  5. Anyone not capable of making an informed, individual opinion (such as children, the severely, mentally impaired, etc.) should not vote. (I admit this is a difficult qualification for our representatives to consider!)

Finally, Voting is a privilege and we can lose it if concerned citizens don’t get involved!

I now must state in my hubinion who should vote:

  1. Every concerned citizen should vote.
  2. Every informed citizen should vote.
  3. Every law abiding citizen should vote.

I write this hub not to discourage but to encourage you to get involved. Our republic needs you!

Every concerned, informed citizen should vote and only those should count. Our future depends on it!

If i tell people what my friend said to me other day it mightbe funny. He was confident to say that American presidency elections must be held worldwide as all countries have high concerns with that not only people living inside US. In my view it couldn't help to snatch the right of voting, awareness is what all needed.
