The RIDDEX SCAM

My Experience with Riddex
Altantic City is notorious for its high end retail shops, casinos, and restaurants. We are the home of the celebrities lifestyle. More artist, musicians, and comedians perform on the grandest stage of the all. Atlantic City is affectionatly known as, "America's Favorite Playground."When guest visit here, they are reminded of Las Vegas with our lights, casinos and of course the nightlife. They refer us as," Baby Las Vegas."
For the past few years, the city undergone major reconstruction. We had plenty of old abandoned homes that were knocked down. Beautiful homes are their replacements. One housing development was leveled and currently being occupied by hiways, and a gorgeous park. In that same section of the city, a major hotel (the Shareton) stands tall greeting everyone at the foot of Atlantic City Expressway.
I can not understand for the life of me, the city has so much revenue for all this reconstruction, but can not come up with a solution for our mice problem. Sure Atlantic City is beautiful to look at and a fun place to visit, but for us residents, it is torture. Not to mention that this city was built on marsh lands and sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay Area. Its no wonder why mice loves this place.
Sands Hotel and Casino was imploded last year, as a result, the mice migrated from the boardwalk area into the city. Never in my entire life have I seen so many mice before. Which brings me to my experience with Riddex.
I am not the perfectionist when it comes to house cleaning. I like my things nice, neat, and fraguenced. I try not to collect clutter. I don't leave food out or anything that mice may be attracted to. Because the foundation of my home is failing, I have noticed cracks under my cabinets and ceilings. Therefore, this is heaven for mice.
Let me tell you all the remedies I tried to get rid of them....
1. I used the pellits that are supposed to kill mice after they ingest them. That doesn't work. These mice are so intellegent that they scattered them where my children could have access to them. I had to sweep all of the pellits and dispose of them for the safety of my children. Yet the mice never died or left my townhome.
2. Sticky tabs were a joke to the mice. I actually watched a mouse move it across the room as if he was moving furniture. I used to wake up in the morning only to find the sticky tabs were turned up-side-down. At this point I am furious because cleaning all that sticky stuff off my tile flooring was a job in its self.
3. I saw this informercial about food products and their different uses. What woke me up to watch it was the fact that they said pure oil of peppermint is a mice repellant. The man said put the oil on cotton balls and place them where mice regularly frequent. The lady said the oil is inexpensive and can be found in my local health food store. The next day, my husband and I ran as fast as we could to purchase the peppermint oil. It was said that the mice can't stand the smell and it burns their eyes. To my surprise, that didn't work either. Instead the mice took the cotton balls and made houses out of it.
I heard that cats will do the job, but my lease forbids pets on the property. While in Walmart, I met a couple who were disgraced by the mice. They said they have lived in their home over 30 years and never had they had problems with mice until these last few years. I started to understand their grief. I lived in my home for 11 years and these past 3 years were completely a nighmare with these mice. The couple adopted a cat to solve their problem. The cat didn't work either. Their cat was carrying the mice in his mouth from one part of the house into the other. The cat was friends with the mice even to the point where they slept together. I guess Tom and Jerry made a truce.
The harder I tried to get rid of them, the more of them made residence in my home. I felt like I was living in the house of Willow. I even have dreams of cats eating mice. You know that is bad. I've done research online for pesticides and everything. Lo and behold a cammercial came on about Riddex.
Riddex is a device that you plug into your electrical sockets that supposed to send ultrasonic soundwaves to the wiring in walls that frightens the mice. They are supposed to leave the house and stay outside. Riddex is supposed to get rid of ants and roaches too. Thank God I don't have those problems or else I would literally go insane. They hyped up the commerical and said that is was safe for your children, pets, and humans. Its $29.99 and you get the second one free. All you have to do is pay the shipping and handling fee.
I thought to myself it is worth a try especially because two of them would have secured my entire home. I could put one upstairs and the other down. Can't go wrong with Riddex right? Wrong!!!!Wrong as two left shoes. I purchased the devices and plugged them up. the only pro to it is has a nightlight. You can hear the sounds if you put your ear to the wall. BUT RIDDEX IS A SCAM.
Riddex doesn't work. I've had them plugged up since early this summer. They said give it 7 days to flush them out. After 7 days, the mice did slow down but about two weeks later, more of them came. When I returned the product, the package came back to me with return to sender and unable to deliver.I was really mad then because I couldn't get my money back guarenteed.
I am telling you all RIDDEX DOESN'T WORK. If you have a mice problem, the only way to get rid of them is to plug up the holes where they come from. If any of you have any facts on getting rid of mice feel free to let me know. I need to get rid of them now.

Good old fashioned mouse traps and peanut butter works pretty well. The mouse arrives to eat the peanut butter and "SNAP!" Problem taken care of. It's not nice but neither are the diseases mice can bring. I lived in an apartment full of mice and ridded the place in couple weeks killing about 20 or so ... some pregnant ones too.
Thank you for alerting us about the Reddex scam. You are right about plugging the holes or any avenue they use for entrance to your house. I had a problem last year with mice in my kitchen. I had to take out the water heater to plug holes in the wall. To get rid of the existing mice, I tried some baits and traps that didn't work. Like you said, those buggers are smart. I put down a couple of sticky glue pads and caught seven of them. Over six months have passed, and I haven't seen a mouse, nor have I seen anything to alert me of any existing mice.
"These mice are so intellegent that they scattered them where my children could have access to them."
You've watched a little too much Tom and Jerry, I think... This was the best quote in the whole thing. Haha. But seriously, yea Riddex is a total scam.
Yep, riddex is a scam. My daughter Julie bought one as well and it does not work...Buyer Beware !!
Sincerely,

Yikes, that's sad to hear. Have they made any enhancements in recent years to actually make the products more effective? Thanks!
