Who are you, who am I? It's a universal question people ask themselves daily as they look at themselves in the mirror. As they tread through the traffic and look upon thousands of faces each day... all of them somewhere else other than the present.
Why is that? Is life's so hard that we have to constantly struggle and stress over who we are, what we are going to be, and how we are going to find that next fix of acknowledgement from our peers? There are so many elements we subject ourselves to in our lives that age us, create stress, and stunt out our growth as beings.
I'm not here to preach, about religion or the second coming. What I am here to do, is offer what I have learned on my journey of growth; physically, spiritually and mentally. It all starts somewhere, and it's NEVER too late to begin the journey of self acknowledgement and expression. What is self acknowledgement and expression?
It's that wake up call you get when you are tired of competing, rushing, and being anywhere else but where you should be. In this moment, right here, right now. It's easy to get lost in the muck whether it's yours or someone else's. What most people find difficult is pulling themselves off and breaking away. How do I do that?
Simple, start by taking a good look at you and ask yourself a few questions.
Am I truly happy? Do I spend too much time projecting into the future or pondering in the past? Am I anxious and don't know why? Can I remain calm in the midst of chaos? Am I holding on to the past, unable to move forward? Do I keep running into the same situations with the same type of people? Do I get angry and hold on to that anger? Am I happy in my relationships? Do I honor myself the way I should?
If you have answered yes to even two of these questions, it's time to embark on a remarkable journey. I know this sounds like an infomercial on how to succeed, but in reality so many people are searching for an answer to their grief. They buy books, listen to tapes, and spend thousands of dollars on psychotherapy. When really, the answers have been within us all along; makes sense yes? If no, then why are you still reading? You must be searching for something. I'm a simple writer, but I've a huge message to share.
