Golf Practice Range

The Practice Range

While visiting the driving range, I walk past many golfers practicing their golf swing. On this walk, I routinely watch the different methods golfers use when they swing the golf club. Some of the swings are fairly good but others need a lot of work. I usually think to myself that if only they could change the way they practiced they would become better golfers so much quicker.

What do I mean by this? The vast majority of all golfers I see on the driving range are just striking balls out there with their driver. If this is what you do, I have got some bad news; you may never improve your game.

So what do you have to do to practice correctly? If you're working on your swing, you have got to work on the swing you use for every club in your bag. This means you need to forget about concentrating on your driver on the range. A driving range should in fact be referred as a practice range as you are there to practice your swing so you can take it to the course without needing to give it some thought. If you have just been striking balls on the range and worsening you need to consider making some major adjustments.

Golf Lessons

Find a Golf Swing That You Can Relate To

If you truly believe that you can work out your golfing swing faults on your own without Online Golf Lessons, books or videos you're kidding yourself. What you suspect you are doing is rarely what you are in essence doing. Just when you think you have it, it's gone. Would it not be better to follow a step by step system that takes you through the various components of the swing and explains them in a way you can understand?

There are loads of different golf instructors out there with many various methods on the proper way to swing a club. I myself decided to take online golf lessons with a recognized expert who has had a lot of success with his students over the years. So now when I practice, I am getting the maximum benefit from it as I have learned all the components of the swing, and my muscles have memorized these movements.

In my many years of trying to work out and perfect my swing, I did not see it clearly until I went through this online golf program. When I accepted the simplicity of the swing that I was taught and I related it to my own swing, the pieces started to fit together. If this sounds interesting to you then checking out this online golf program would be a good idea.

Do Lots of Practice Swings

After you have selected an instructor and a swing technique, it is time to practice what you have learned. Again, it isn't as simple as just hitting balls out there. You've been shown certain positions you need to incorporate into your swing. The only way to implement this is by doing lots of practice swings in front of a mirror or at the practice range. By doing lots of practice swings, your muscles will memorize your new swing positions so you can do them consistently when you hit real shots on the course. By just hitting balls down the range, you may keep reverting back to your old swing that is full of faults.

Golf Clubs Bag

Hit Different Shots with Different Clubs

When you have made the compulsory changes to your swing it is time to hit varied shots. Golf is not simply a game of hitting the ball 300 yards down the fairway with your driver. The game also needs good fairway woods, long, middle and short irons as well as a great short game.

You must attempt to practice all elements of your game with all the clubs in your bag, particularly the clubs you hate most. If you keep ignoring certain clubs you will keep on hitting them poorly. Building a good and consistent golf swing needs time. If it could be achieved in a week everybody would be a pro.

Get the Most Distance Out of Every Club in Your Bag

Improve Your Golf Swing

If your changes are slight then a week or two of consistent practice swings should embed these new swing positions. If you are completely reconstructing your swing it might take you 1 or 2 months or even longer. Sometimes your new swing will present new issues like hitting the ball through the green because you aren't used to your new distances. When you have hit enough shots you'll be in a position to select the right club for the situation and you score will come down.

If you would like to become a better golfer it is time to try an easier golf swing and to change how you are at present practicing. If you would like to try the online golf lessons that I took, then first read about the Golf Apprentice Program and see if it is for you.

Great golf tips, mickeuan, and an excellent video. I only wish there were better practice areas for us weekend golfers. Public driving ranges are more for fun than true practice, and most of us can't afford to belong to a private club.
