You aren’t about to read a glory story in which what starts well ends well too. This true story is about a cricket team who has been crushed by opponents in early stages of the tournament, a team who has no home series in upcoming future, this is about a country from whom ICC champions trophy is taken away and awarded to South Africa. This is about the country that is fighting against terrorism and still labeled as terrorists. Their players were accused for ball tempering whenever they perform outstanding. Their players were stopped from playing in Indian Premeir league. But still in less than three weeks after being crushed by teams like India, Srilanka, England and South Africa, they are the Champions of the world. This true story is about Pakistan Cricket Team. The most unpredictable but still the most magnificent Cricket team in the World. This moment of joy belong to us the supporters, who never lose faith on their team. This is what you can call a true rise of the phoenix from the ashes.
Pakistani Players in IPL
In my personal opinion this victory means more than that we have in 1992. In 1992 Pakistan Cricket team was full of big players like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad, Ramiz Raja, Aqib Javed, Mushtaq Ahmed and (a new born)Inzimam-ul-haq, the only problem was the consistency in their performance. On the other hand now we got just few known names like Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Abdur Razzaq, Kamran Akmal and Misbah-ul-Haq and absolutely they are no match to those great names. The worst was that these players were rejected due to dirty global politics for cricket leagues and then they witnessed that those who has less talent were offered Million dollar deals as their replacement. Is their anything that can be more frustrating than that?
World Cup 1992
Pakistanis doesn’t like doing stuff in the easy way, not as much as I have seen myself. When it comes to cricket, Pakistanis are at their best of this behavior. In 1992 Pakistan lost three out first five games they played and were going for elimination, but there big game against England was drawn due to rain. The reawaking started with victories over Australia and Sri Lanka, and then Pakistan beat unbeaten New Zealand twice to put them in final. The Sultan of Swing Wasim Akram took good care of England in Finals.
T20 2009
Pakistan keeps their tradition of lousy start going. They started with 48-run defeat by England and another run chase defeat against Sri Lankans in the Super Eights. But then Pakistan crushed New Zealand and Ireland to secure a place in semi finals, which was according to Cricket experts should be held by either India or Australia. In semi finals Shahid Afridi put a brilliant show and crushed South Africa’s run chase. In finals he sang the same song along with Abdur Razzaq.
T20 2007
In 1999 Pakistan played against Australia in finals and had an embarrassing defeat. In 2007 Pakistan was beaten again in T20 final by India, all thanks to Misbah-ul-haq stupid paddle that ends most brilliant victory spree Pakistan can ever have. You got to imagine how much it hurts to get so close to victory and let it go. Hats off to all Pakistani supporters they still didn’t let hope go.
Celeberations
Celebrations are everywhere now, regardless of boundaries, wether its Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, TrentBridge or even internally displaced persons from Swat in camps. This deliver a strong message to those lunatics who attacked Sri Lankans in Lahore and now losing hold on Swat that we are going to get you out of there, pretty soon Inshallah.
Long Live Pakistan.
Long Live Our Team.
