A Memorable Girls Night In

Would you like to make your next Girls Night In fun and memorable? Then let the The Science of Sexy be your entertainment for the night. This Girls Night In theme was borne out of a desire to make peace with my body. I declared, “No more dieting”, and educated myself in the art of dressing ten pounds thinner. That’s when I discovered my body confidence bible, “The Science of Sexy”, by Bradley Bayou. And what better gift to give my best girlfriends than body confidence and pure sexiness? I say, there is no better gift!

So, you’ve got your Girls Night In planned, the food is under control, and you’ve decided to serve a sexy cocktail (I like to make a big pitcher of Vodka, Cranberry Juice, and Club Soda and serve it in martini glasses). Now, you just need a few fun friends, and the following items for your Science of Sexy theme. Here’s the list:

Measuring tape

Calculator

Note pads

Pencils

A copy of Bradley Bayou’s The Science of Sexy for you and each guest

Fashion Magazines and catalogs

You can buy the paperback from Amazon.com for around $10 or splurge on the hard bound version for under $30. If this breaks the budget, you can always pass around your copy and have each guest take notes about the do’s and don’ts for their particular body shape.

Queen Latifah Without The Science of Sexy

Dressing Sexy = Emphasizing the Positives and Hiding the Negatives

If there are any doubters, I can assure you, Bradley Bayou knows what he’s talking about! He has worked his magic on Hollywood A-Listers such as Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria, Queen Latifah, and Debra Messing. Recently, I watched Queen Latifah perform a song on Dancing With the Stars. The contrast between the photo of her in Bayou’s book, where he had dressed her in a silvery floor length corset style gown and her appearance on Dancing With the Stars, where she wore leggings, Converse high tops, and a horizontal striped shirt was astounding! In Bayou’s gown, she looked statuesque, shapely and balanced. But during her performance on DWTS, she looked top heavy, and the leggings drew attention to her thighs. I’m quite sure Bayou was not consulted before Latifah strutted out onto the stage in that outfit!

The Science of Sexy - How it Works

How does this Science of Sexy work? Well, it is based on measurements, shape, height and weight. First you take the measurements of your shoulders, bust, waist and hips. Turn to page 65 in The Science of Sexy book and use those measurements to determine whether you are an Inverted Triangle, a Rectangle, a Triangle, or an Hourglass. Next, turn to the chart on pages 66 and 67, find where your height and weight meet on the grid, and you’ll have your color. Now, use your shape and color to find which dressing room to turn to in the book. It’s as simple as that.

As the hostess of the party, it’s your job to get your lady friends liquored up enough to let you take their measurements. So, get the cocktails flowing. Next, take each gal’s measurements and have her write them down on her note pad. Each guest will use those measurements and a calculator (if needed) to determine her shape, and thus move through the process of determining her color and finally, her dressing room number. Once she has turned to the appropriate page in the book, she will then learn her body’s blessings (what to emphasize) and curses (what to hide). She will learn what to wear and what not to wear. Each dressing room segment in the book will give an example of a casual outfit, a career outfit, and a formal outfit that will have her looking her best. If she doesn’t have the means to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, no problem! She can start by looking for her One Fashion Must-Have, which is provided in the book as well. And for fun, each guest will learn which celebrity her body most resembles. My celebrity stand-in just happened to be Denise Richards! Not bad! That little tidbit of information was well worth the anxiety I suffered while having my bulging bits measured. I was feeling sexy already!

Now that you and your friends have learned how to apply The Science of Sexy to your unique body size and shape, you can spend the rest of the evening looking through magazines to find pictures of the clothing items that Bayou recommended for you in his book. Each person should keep those pictures with them every time they shop, as a reminder of the things that will flatter their figure and give them the confidence to be sexy. Make your next get-together a shopping date, followed by a Girls Night Out!
