Get To the Front Page of Digg.com
Digg.com can make your site (or page) an instant success. If you thought getting to Digg's front page was going to be difficult, (or you haven't had any luck in the past), fear not. Like me, you've probably been submitting articles or blog posts you've written with subjects you enjoy reading and writing about. That's your mistake. You have to forget about what you like. The secret to getting Dugg is to write articles their readers will like-and in return, Digg.
If you do submit to Digg, be sure you use a site such as Hubpages.com for your article(s). Your own site's server might not be able to handle the load of traffic Digg provides and will most-likely crash, if you're not bandwidth heavy.
Here are my list of topics you can write about to get your site (or Hub) to the Digg.com main page and have you counting your Adsense bucks in no time at all. The suggestions below are only slightly tounge in cheek. If you're a Digg fan, you'll see I'm pretty accurate about what works on the site.
Bash Bush- Digg users are known George W.Bush haters. If you want to get on Digg's main page, you MUST bash the president. Iraq is the most popular hate Bush topic, but any article where Bush is the bad guy will work to get Diggers to vote up your site. Bush Impeachment is another topic that will virtually guarantee you great placement. Title your article something like, "Why Bush MUST Be Impeached Now" or "Bush Impeachment on the Way" You'll be on your way to Digg super-stardom before you know it.
Worship Ron Paul-Even though he doesn't stand a popsicle's chance in July, Digg users love him. Make sure your articles include several complimentary references to Dr. Paul and you'll be on Digg's main page faster than you can say Mitt Romney. Crazed Ron Paul fans flock to all sorts of Paul news (true or otherwise) and will gladly Digg articles titled, "Paul Supports End to Cuban Embargo" "Ron Paul is the US Constitution's NEW Spokesperson" , "Dr. Paul Ahead in EVERY Poll", etc. You get the idea. Be Pro-Paul and you'll be loved like Paul, compliments of the Diggers.
Hate FOX News-If you hate FOX News (or if you don't and are willing to lie), Diggers will show their utmost love and respect for you. Bill O' Reilly is Digg's Satan. If you write about Bill O' Reilly, you'll have Digg users salivating to Digg your site to page 1. Add a real teaser, right-wing loving headline such as, "Bill O' Reilly Says: High Gas Prices Are Good For the US." will not only infuriate liberal Diggers, but will get you rising higher up the Digg ladder. Other FOX News personalities also work well with Digg. "Sean Hannity Asks: Who the Heck is Ron Paul?" would be a killer Digg-getting headline.
War With Iran-No sane person wants war with Iran (or any place else for that matter), but mentioning the possibility of war with our long time enemies is almost guaranteed to get you Dugg. Add Bill O' Reilly and Bush into the story and make it an award winning article. "Bill O' Reilly Says: War With Iran Likely Before Bush's Term Ends" is one to get you started.
Other Digg article subjects that will make you a success?
Dick Cheny-Enough said?
Conan O' Brien- Digg users LOVE Conan.
Star Wars/ George Lucas- The Holy Grail of Digg topics.
911 Conspiracy Theories- Digg users love these. The crazier, the better.
Stephen Colbert-Loved by Diggers everywhere.
Steve Jobs and Apple- Yes! You'll be a star! Jobs and Apple rank HIGH with Digg users. Bonus points if you own more than three iPods.
Bill Gates and Microsoft-Yes again! Gates and his company are hated on Digg. Write an anti-Windows article. Do a Vista rant. Diggers HATE Vista.
Get Techy With It- "Write an article called 101 Uses for an Old USB Cable" Follow it up with photos of the project and plan that trip to Jamaica. Digg will LOVE you!
Check out Digg for a few weeks and take note of what appears on the front page. With a great blog, Hubpages article and a lot of luck you'll be Digging a fortune very soon. Good luck! (And if you want to help me make my fortune, you can always get yourself an account and DIGG this article. Thanks)

You-da-man, blog marketing. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip..I will submit my "Funny George Bush pictures and videos" hub right now..
;)
See you on the front page, compu-smart:)
;)
Great Advice
Thanks Bogey047. Looks like lots of us are heading to Digg's main page soon.
Wait I don't get it. Who's Ron Paul? haha just kidding. Great article rockinjoe and I love the added humor. I tend to write lots of humor into my hubs as well so I have a respect for humerous hubbers like yourself! Keep it rockin
Thank You, WeddingConsultant. I'm definitely headed over your way to check out your stuff. Thanks for writing!
lol, yeah you pegged Diggers about right. :p too funny, love your hubs. I'll digg ya too. :)
At least now I know why I don't get diggs... I'm just too plain ole dull!
Thanks for the tips on being a little more risky!
I don't know about that, Diane. I just read your hub "Naughty After Forty" Dull, you are not!
So now I know, be a Republican to be on Digg :-)
Thanks Ponderize. Make that be a Republican only while Ron Paul is.
You've put out some very interesting ideas. Thanks for this article!
Thanks for checking in, jdeschene I appreciate it.
Your article has the honour of being the first I have read on Hubpages :) It was very entertaining
Thank you Uninvited Writer! Welcome to Hubpages:)
Hey Rockinjoe
Iim British and I was on a fight to Vegas and talkng to a Dentist sat next to me from Philly. He got onto the subject of IRAQ and how he really admired Tony Blair with his intelligent meaningful responses to interviews, and how sharp those responses were...then he said
"Yeah.........(long pause)....and we've got George Bush....(sigh)"
Thanks for the laugh, eBook!
This was funny. I have one slight problem - is there a site that old fogeys can submit to that won't make it a hopeless exercise if your topic isn't as controversial as say, GASP! Stephen Colbert , Conan O'Brien & Fox News.
Jeez, this post should have been written like forever ago - I have to be the most boring person on the planet. Not only that - I write boring posts too - no wonder I'm not getting dugg. Thanks for the terrific tips.
Sad commentary on the Digg group if writing about USB cables works. (It does too!)
Great Digg ideas, Thanks! One of my articles has just got 100 diggs and I'm wodering if that will be enough to put it on the home page!?
I guess I wouldn't have much luck on Digg. I love Bill O'Reilley, and I love FoxNews!! LOL! Sounds like a little bit of fun to challange all the liberals, though.
lol - great hub! You really got the topics down. I used to be active on digg, but it just sucked up too much time. I think if you are interested in high-tech hardware, and gaming, digg is probably a good place to invest some of your time. It is also a pretty entertaining place when you have some free time before dinner. :)
Thanks, Anna Marie, I kinda like Bill too. Meagyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer, as well, but if it gets me on Digg to hate them....I'm all for it.
Thanks, shibashake. Digg can be pretty entertaining, but It's so liberal and so far to the left that I enjoy very few submissions anymore.
Hi Rockinjoe, I don't know if I'll ever get to front page of Digg. I have to find the time to digg more articles but there seem to be a lack of it these days esp. with the preschool rush and setting up a christmas party for the kids and the teachers. But this hub is quite entertaining and I'll come back to digg this one. :-)
Thank you, ripplemaker. There never seems to be enough hours in the day, does there? I appreciate your stopping by.
Top notch article and amusing too! made me digg and join your fan club so it must be good!
Cheers
Derek
