The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor
70The Cyclops
The Cyclops, a mythical one eyed giant creature lived on the Island of Colossa.
The movie was released in 1958 and distributed by Columbia.
Sinbad rescues a sorcerer on the Island of Colossa and heads back to Baghdad only to be forced to return to the island by the sorcerer who is after treasure and a magic lamp.
He turns Sinbad's bride elect into a tiny figure of herself and tells Sinbad that the only cure for her is on the Cyclop's island so they return.
As luck would have it, on the way back to the island, the crew mutinees rather than face the dangers of the Cyclops.
But, the sorcerer, Sinbad, his fiancee and a small select band of his crew make it to the island, manage to get captured by the Cyclops, escape from the Cyclops, kill the Cyclops and the evil sorcerer and live happily ever after.
Just as a good old movie from the 50's should be.
The Cast
Included Kerwin Mathews as the brave Sinbad.
Kathryn Grant as the fair princess.
And Torin Thatcher as the evil sorcerer.
It also had a number of supporting actors of which, I have never heard of.

i love the old movies and i mostly watch those that are absolute masterpieces, which are not only enjoyable but also spirit-lifting, inspirational, healing and thought provoking.
thank you very much for the Sinbad movie - that is really a great find!
I have fond memories of my little brother breathing, living and dreaming of Sinbad-the ultimate little fellows superhero. It was a clever movie for it's time.Ray Harryhausen was the animator-if you get a chance check out Jason and the Argonauts(another one of his)-especially the skeleton fight!
Thank you for your comments. I love the old movies, my favourites still being Seven Brides For Seven Brothers and of course, White Christmas.

Magic hub with a lot of memories.
We nhad been married one year when it was released.
We thought it was great.
Thanks for stopping by Mr Marmalade. I think sometimes the older movies are the better ones.

having a choice (if i must) between a new and an old movie, i know i can always trust the oldie, particularly if i know the actors, the real Hollywood stars. they move me deeply and i don't mind if i have a little cry when someone is especially kind and generous, even to an underdog, and even when they don't need to. i have learnt so many important life-lessons from them, they are like old friends, welcome in my home anytime.
thanks again, Donna! (i wonder if you know that in Italian DONNA actually means "a woman"? [you need to pronounce both "nn"s soundly]
nothing simple about your SINBAD review: it is incisive, intelligent, full of deep observations, and genuine passion. you brought to my attention a very important movie that i have missed seeing - and i really thank you for that!
if you feel like it, and can afford the time, you can always add to it, if something comes to your mind, or you may find another "one" - something movie, book or story to make a new interesting hub on it! i am so glad you did this one, and hope there will be many more!
Thank you Bozyslawa, I appreciate your review and your time in stopping by and for the lesson in Italian. Donna

I love the oldies. They are all so fake and baddly made and still my favorite past time on a snowy winters Sunday afternoon. With a bowl of freshly popped popcorn a and a cup of hot apple cider.
Great HUB regards Zsuzsy
