This tiny granny unit and mechanics workshop fit into a narrow and sloping site.

The owner had intended to have both houses be occupied by one family...and initially desired a communal relationship between the two houses across the garden and patio. After completed, he liked the new place so much that he decided to rent out the big house and move into the granny himself. So he needed more privacy. We developed several elegant solutions...and the concept is still evolving. The idea is to create a screen...but not an unfriendly barrier. Perhaps something that has other uses as well.
