Laptops, they just get smaller and smaller don’t they? At the same time, these super small laptops most likely are even more powerful than the laptop you currently own. Remember those days when a good laptop would cost $2000? Though it sounds like a long time ago, it was only a few years ago. Now you can get a decent laptop for only $500. Even these new small laptops are much cheaper than the bulky laptops offered only 10 years ago.

Samsung’s Q35 – Small and Powerful

Mobilewhack.com calls this the“smallest dual-core notebook which also has an extremely stylish feel to it. The Q35 is very portable with it’s weight of only 1.9kg and its screen of 12.1 inches. Think its monitor is too small? Even with this small size, it still displays a nice 1280 by 800 widescreen display. Furthermore, it is powered on an Intel Core Duo T2700 processor which is connected to an Intel 945GM chipset across a 667MHz front side bus. Worried about space? It has an 80 GB of hard drive space and 512 mb DDR 2 Ram. It also contains a DVD burner for burning movies. However, had they left out the DVD burner, this laptop could have been even smaller.

Sony VAIO UX – Very, Very Small

If you aren’t a heavy gamer, but need to get business done or surf the web. The Sony VAIO UX has to be one of the most portable options currently on the market. In fact, it fits in a side pocket that clips right to your pants. Though it looks like an oversized cell phone, it does a whole lot more than your average mobile phone. Contained within it’s 5.91”×3.74”×1.50” dimensions is a 1.2 GHz Intel Mobile CPU, 512 MB DDR2 PC2-3200 400 MHz RAM and 32 GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive at 4200 RPM. To make it simple, its pretty fast and extremely small. I’m not quite sure how someone can properly type on its small keyboard however. (See the Picture Below).
