The Soul of Home Theater
63Choosing a Screen
There are so many options for home entertainment. You can watch movies, sports, play a video game or whatever. Doing that stuff on a regular old television just won't do. So how do you watch a life size movie without sticky floors or flying popcorn? How do you watch the big game minus sports bar crowds and uncomfortable bar stools? How do you play the latest new video game on a giant screen? Projector Screens are the ultimate in home entertainment!
Like most home theater options, there is a large variety of screens to consider when shopping for a projection screen; like portable screens, manual screens, electric screens, or fixed frame screens. Portable screens can go almost anywhere, boardrooms, classrooms media rooms churches, or trade shows. Manual screens are usually mounted on a wall and the viewing surface is exposed by manually pulling the screen down, or raising it from the floor. Some manual screens are portable, can be unfolded and set up for display. Electric screens are very popular for home theater and other permanent applications. Electric Screens come in many sizes and types. They can be recessed in a ceiling, mounted on a wall or raised from a fixed location on the floor. Electric screens are available as plug-and-play units, or the motor for the operation of the screen can be connected to the wiring system in your home or school. Be sure to consult a Certified Electrician before choosing this method. Fixed Frame screens are usually mounted on a wall like hanging a framed picture. There are also many screen surfaces to choose from. Matte White is a versatile screen surface that is great for presentations when ambient light is controllable. Glass-Beaded or textured screen surfaces are also available and are most commonly used for home theater applications. Choosing the right size screen is also important.

Gaming with projectors is very cool. I will do a post on it soon, but in the mean time, found this article that will help.
Thank you!

I like the idea of playing video games on a giant screen. How do I plug my xbox into a projector?
