The Stars See UFOs Too

Celebrity Close Encounters
Hollywood stars, politicians, musicians and astronauts; the people that we admire (and sometimes hate) are included in the list of individuals that claim to have sighted UFOs. Maybe they are just as wacko as the Deliverance-like hillbilly that says he "saw a spark in the sky, burning as bright as the fires of Hades!", but I still find it interesting.
I like to keep an open mind about most things. Hell, it's a big ol' universe out there. We cannot be alone -- can we? If we were, the infinite space sure is a helluva waste. I think the question is not if there is intelligent life out there but are they travelling here to Earth?
Read these accounts of celebrity sightings and you may be convinced. If celebrities can convince the morons in this country to vote for Barack Hussein Obama, then why not UFOs also? (Oh no you didn't. Oh no you didn't! -- Screw you, I did!)
John Lennon
The iconic Beatle claimed he saw an oval shaped object in the New York sky while he looked out his apartment window. He watched it for 20 minutes before it disappeared from sight. Lennon then phoned the police to report the sighting and he was told he was one of several calls that night. Lennon neglected to leave his name for obvious reasons.
"I shouted after it, 'Wait for me, wait for me!'"
– John Lennon
David Bowie
While growing up in England, David Robert Jones (aka David Bowie, aka Ziggy Stardust), claims to have experienced many UFO sightings.
"They came over so regularly we could time them. Sometimes they stood still, other times they moved so fast it was hard to keep a steady eye on them." – David Bowie
Sammy Hagar
Sammy "The Red Rocker" Hagar claims to have been abducted several times by aliens throughout his life, starting at 18 years of age. That's about all I have to say about this freak.
"When I was about 18 or 19, they (the aliens) downloaded everything that was in my head."
– Sammy Hagar

Walter Cronkite
In the 1950s, Walter Cronkite, "the most trusted man in America," was part of a small group of reporters sent to an island in the South Pacific to observe a test of a new Air Force missile. The reporters were not allowed cameras or audio equipment, so they had to write any information down as quickly as they could while touring the launch pad and missile. Security personnel and guard dogs enforced this rule. Cronkite and the others were escorted a safe distance from the launch pad while the missile was prepared for launch.
As the missile fired-up for launch, a disk-shaped aircraft 50-60 feet in diameter entered the airspace, hovering about 30 feet from the ground. Air Force security personnel scrambled, running toward the UFO. The missile then ignited and launched into the air. A blue beam of light shot from the aircraft, hitting the missile, a security guard and his dog, freezing all in place. The missile floated in mid-air about 70 feet from the ground while the guard and dog stood motionless. Then the missile exploded and the intruding disk vanished. Both guard and his dog were freed unharmed.
All the reporters were escorted to a bunker and left there for about a half hour. Cronkite and the others were then taken out of the bunker and met by an Air Force colonel. The colonel informed the reporters that what they just saw was staged to test their reaction to UFOs; to prove to them that witnessing new aircraft technology can be shocking. Thus is the reason for all the reports of extraterrestrial flying saucers. The reporters were also told that since the test was for media reaction only, they could not report on it.
Needless to say, Walter Cronkite never believed the military's explanation.
Jimmy Carter
On January 6 1969, while Governor of Georgia, former President Carter claims he saw a UFO that changed colors and was as big as the moon.
"One thing's for sure, I'll never make fun of people who say they've seen unidentified objects in the sky. If I become President, I'll make every piece of information this country has about UFO sightings available to the public and the scientists." – Jimmy Carter, 1976
Unfortunately, Carter did not fulfill his promise, citing "defense implications".

Ronald Reagan
There are two accounts of President Reagan witnessing a UFO, both occurring while he was Governor of California.
The first was when Reagan and his wife Nancy were on their way to a party at actor William Holden's house. Reagan entered the party telling some guests, including Lucille Ball and Steve Allen, that he and Nancy saw a UFO while driving to the gala.
"After he was elected President, I kept thinking about that event, and wondered if he still would have won if he told everyone that he saw a flying saucer." – Lucille Ball
The second sighting occurred while Reagan was being flown in a private plane. During descent, Reagan noticed a glowing object behind the plane. The pilot followed the object until it sped off with amazing speed.
"It was a bright white light. We followed it to Bakersfield and all of a sudden to our utter amazement it went straight up into the heavens." – Ronald Reagan
Richard Nixon & Jackie Gleason
President Nixon, being good friends with Jackie Gleason, knew about "The Great One's" avid interest in the paranormal and ufology.
According to Gleason's second wife Beverly, Nixon took Gleason on a private tour of Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. This tour consisted of a recovered alien spacecraft and corpses of the extra-terrestrial crew.
"He and Nixon were in contact quite a bit and I'm not sure how that was arranged, but it seems that their meetings were set up by an associate of Nixon's. After he got back, he was very pleased he had an opportunity to see the dead little men in cases, he explained to me what they looked like and he was still talking about it the next day."
– Beverly Gleason McKittrick
Dan Aykroyd
Dan Aykroyd is an avid long-time believer in UFOs. He is a lifetime member and official Hollywood Consultant (whatever that means) of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network). He developed a documentary on the subject (Dan Aykroyd Unplugged on UFOs) and hosted the television series PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal. Aykroyd also claims to have personally witnessed a UFO while at Martha's Vineyard.
Muhammad Ali
Muhammad "The Greatest" Ali didn't "float like a butterfly" nor "sting like a bee" when he saw a UFO. He claims to have seen 16 of them during his lifetime.
"If you look into the sky in the early morning you see them playing tag between the stars." – Muhammad Ali

Gordon Cooper
Mercury and Gemini astronaut Gordon Cooper was an ardent believer in UFOs. While working at Edwards Air Force Base, two crew members under his command (charged with setting up cameras on the dry lake bed) reported to him that they witnessed a UFO hovering above them and even landing just 50 yards away from the startled men. The men recorded the event with still and moving film.
Cooper had the film developed, revealing clear shots of exactly what his men reported to him. By orders from the Pentagon, Cooper sent the developed film and negatives to Washington D.C., where it was never seen again.
"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists and astronauts. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us."
– Gordon Cooper

What's that? Presidents have seen ufos? And not one or two but three? Presidents? People who are entrusted to run our country? Who am I to take them seriously...right? They're just politicians.lol
Writer Rider: I only focused on a few Presidents. There are more.
I know that a little sarcasm was injected into your comment but a President of the United States of America (no matter how distrusted they are) knows a lot more than they say they do. The ones who actually admit to some sort of UFO knowledge are the trusting few. I guarantee that all of them know a portion (if not all) of the truth.
In one of my hubs or it may have been a comment, I mentioned that my ex and I were awakened by a bright light outside our bedroom window and a sound much like a loud diesel engine. we were not dreaming, both saw and heard "the truck" but there is no road near that particular bedroom as it faced the neighbors house and fence. When we looked outside it simply vanished. Also one night we saw pinkish balls moving through the sky at tremendous speed, changing direction at will. This was fairly widely reported but was passed off as a trick of light, water vapour and cloud because of the partcularly full moon at that time.
Very interesting.
This is amazing. Absolutely amazing. I never knew all of those presidents had experiences with UFO's. Fascinating. Great job compiling this information! Very interesting to read! :)
This is a very interesting read dork, and now I know why you got an offer! And I should thank you for your shameless promotion, link and all! - in that imadork tribute hub or i wouldn't get here! And by the way, congratulations :D
thank you both. I am currently in a battle of global domination with pgrundy right now. She is a Communist by the way.
Also, in the shameless self-promotion trend...read my hub "A Guide To Time Travel"
A link would have been more persuasive. But hey its okay, I think they call it fan duty!
Cool! I liked this one when I read it a while back, but I guess I forgot to comment! :D
PS: Chris, it's understood that you will notice that HUB when you are performing your regular perusal of His Hubs. That's why there is no need for a link! LOL! :D
Congrats Imadork!
Well, I haven't heard back from them yet. I submitted it, they emailed back saying they like it and asked about the word count and if it has been sold before. I answered them and that's the last I've heard.
Well....that definitely sounds promising!! I wish you the best!
Thanks KCC
First I must say that I read and enjoyed your hub here. Great job! Second, I myself just created a new hub titled "Are we alone?" I speak of the possibility of extraterrestrial life, UFOs, unexplained phenomina, and some of my own witnessed events of unexplained encounters. Though I am fiction writer...I speak purely of the truth about my thoughts, and events with the unknown. Please feel free to check it out sometime, and post a comment if you like.
Sincerely, Brian Hiller @ HCLtd.
