Where oh where is the Stumble button?

Most people are aware that Stumble is one of the biggest sites--a place where you can bookmark and share your favorite pages from across the Internet, as well as your own content.

If you have a website or blog, you'll definitely want to add the Stumble button so that users can easily submit your pages to the vast StumbleUpon network, thus sending readers and traffic your way.

Where to find the Stumble It Button

  1. Go to StumbleUpon
  2. Next create an account
  3. When you are logged in, scroll to the bottom of the StumbleUpon page and look at the third heading over on the right, which is entitled: Tools and Services. Underneath, you'll see: StumbleUpon Buttons
  4. Click on that to open a new page, which gives you the ability to promote your site with a number of different styles of StumbleUpon buttons. These range from round graphics to rectangular Thumbs Up, Stumble It buttons.
  5. Once you've selected the Stumble It button of choice, you'll need to select the site you want to install it on. You will be taken to another page which allows you to add the Stumble button to any page or website, to Blogger, to WordPress, etc.
  6. Choose the site you want to install the Stumble button on. For this example, we will use Blogger.
  7. Once you have selected Blogger, you'll see some HTML code. This should be selected (highlighted) and copied: (right-click and select, "Select All," then right-click and select "Copy.") You then can install it (paste it) into your Blogger template as directed or, if this seems too daunting, you can easily add the button code to your blog's sidebar by going to "Layout," "Add a Gadget," and selecting the third option, which allows you to add third party functionality via the HTML/JavaScript function. Paste the code inside the box, press "Save" and view your blog. You can drag the Capsule so that your Stumble button appears near to the top of your blog.

You've done it! You've quickly and painlessly added the Stumble It button to your page or blog. Now your readers can easily bookmark content that captures their attention. You can also share these pages, thus gaining more traffic.
