The Success Principles
65A review of Jack Canfield’s book “The Success Principles"
Jack canfield’s book “The Success Principles, How to go from where you are to where you want to go” is one of the best, if not the best books I have read on subject of success. It provides a comprehensive review of everything that is known today about success and achievement. It puts all the pieces together, from taking 100% responsibility for your life, to goal setting, to affirmations, to building and improving professional and personal relationships, to overcoming obstacles and fear, and many many more.
Praise for The Success Principles
The book has been praised by many highly successful business people, authors and peak performance sports champions. To mention a few, Anthony Robbins, an authority on psychology of leadership and change; Pat Williams, senior vice president of the NBA’s Orlando Magic; Peter Vidmar, two-time Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics and member of the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame; Dave Liniger, chairman of the board of RE/MAX International.

What is it all about?
The Success Principles is the combination of 64 timeless principles, most of which can be found in other books, but I have never seen a book that puts all of them together. Every principle is written in a short chapter consisting of only about 5 to 10 pages. The paragraphs are short, sweet and to the point. So you can take the book and start from the middle and you can follow everything.
Who is Jack Canfield anyways?
My personal experience with The Success Princples
I read this book the minute I received it and couldn’t stop reading until I finished it all! I am no fast reader, and the book is no short book! ( in fact it is about 500 pages!) but the book is written in such a flowing manner that information just flows in.
In particular in this hub I would like to tell you about my own experience from using of the principles, the principle 14: Just lean into it.
Just Lean into It; the 14th principle
This is such a simple principle; you would be shocked on the results you might get so easily. This principle says basically that sometime in order to succeed you only need to lean into direction of success and the rest would happen automatically.
When you lean into something you start to create momentum, it breaks your emotional brakes. Make yourself be open to opportunities and be willing to grasp any tiny chance that comes your way.
Even Micheal Jackson leans!
Personal experience of Leaning into Things!
o what was my experience? Well, I am an Electrical Engineer and I have always loved computers and wanted to work with them. I was a computer technician before but never knew anything about professional programming. One day a friend of mine, who is an estate agent business owner, called me up and asked some help with their computers.
At the estate agency there was nobody who knew much about computers. So would stop working whenever there was smallest computer problem! (i.e. once they wanted to use Skype and they said the voice doesn’t go through and they waited for me for 2 hours to get there, when I went there I realized that the microphone is on mute!)
Any ways, I accepted that I would work there part-time. They would call me whenever they needed me.
The opportunity knocks on my door!
After sometime, she started to ask me to be in charge of all their IT needs, i.e. help them with their website, regarding updating, expanding, optimization , making regular backups of their databases, resolving all internet and e-mail issues and so on.
I leaned into it and ...
As I mentioned I had no clue about programming, nevertheless, I reminded “Just Lean into it” principle of the success principles, and I thought maybe this is a chance for me to learn programming. So I accepted the challenge, but gave no promises.
I started to read about basics of programming, web development, HTML, php and many other things from any resource imaginable: books, blogs, Wikipedia, wiki how, forums etc. I went to YouTube every evening and searched for short tutorials on how to edit HTML, connect to Ftp, etc.
The result ?
All in all in 4 short months I learned 3 different programming languages, intermediate level, learned to work with database programs, and learned how to rank higher on major search engines and many more things. All of these are extremely valuable assets for me and gold on my resume. Plus I learned how to earn money on the internet!
The moral of the story?
So, by just “leaning into” accepting to be in charge all IT aspects of that company I improved my career prospective, reached one of my dreams! (I learned programming), made more money and became a much happier person, as I found my passion by going through the process.
This is one of my experiences from applying one of the principles mentioned in The Success Principles – How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be. Now imagine there are 63 more of them! I am sure anybody who applies the principles will get measurable results.
