They also have a home schooling boot camp program that provides the following:

• Assess the best way to teach an individual child according to learning ability.

In addition to many of the same kind of resources from the first site, this site has a chat room, lists of distance learning programs by religion as well as others and a page that contains the home school laws for all 50 states and even Australia. The owner of the site is a retired home schoolteacher with ten years under her belt. The site is resourceful and easily navigated, definitely two thumbs up.

An unusual name for a good home school resource. When you are first starting anything new a support group of others who have done what you are attempting is good. This support can actually be the difference between success and failure. This site offers an online support group and many other resources. I particularly loved the abundance of games and fascinating facts sections. These were just too much fun.

This site is probably one of the best ideas in home schooling. The idea is to provide home school parents the same opportunity to purchase books at the discounts the school systems get. Built by home schoolers for home schoolers this is a fantastic site. There is no membership fee associated with the site. The plan is to grow the site to 100,000 members and in effect be as large as the largest school districts therefore receive the best prices on all curriculums.

Laurel springs is a bit different, this is an accredited distance learning school that serves the needs of grades k-12 and college prep. With this kind of homschool program, the teaching aspect of home school is alleviated. Your child will have teachers and an approved standard curriculum. A school like this is perfect for the family that wants an accredited curriculum provided for them. This college prep school has been in business since 1981 and currently boasts an enrollment of over 3,000 students. They are also the first distance learning school chapter of the National Honor Society. Altogether a sound school with a great record of accomplishment.
