Last night I was doing some web browsing. I wasn't looking for any particular subject just checking different topics. A thought came upon me, just how many nations were involved in the slave trade. i was surprised at the information that i found out, there was of course the ones that i knew such as England, France, and Spain but the interesting ones were Portugal, Sweden, Germany, Holland, Ireland. That is quite a long list. I didn't imagine that so many people were making money off the humiliation of another set of people.

This forced me to look further in the browser. What other entities were involved. The church I remembered that a Pope apologized for sanctioning the enslavement of fellow children of God. Sanctioning might not be the best word to use, it was more like blessing. Blessing, what a thing the Pope saying that Jesus Christ wants you to go out and enslave human beings. I wonder did the Pope really feel this way or was he paid to give his blessing. I mean there is a lot of money floating around. He could of been bribed. Or did he feel in his soul that god created these people to be slaves and to be brutalized tortured and their women raped. Families created and destroyed like domesticated animals. Did he know that Black people were inferior because god himself told him so and he was just following orders. The browser didn't tell me that answer. It did say that slave owner would castrate slaves, cut off toes, mangle ankles in order to keep slaves in line. I wonder did the Pope know about that. I mean my God doesn't make mistakes and that's a fact.

There are estimates from multiple sources that about 30million Black people started that fateful journey across the ocean. Only about half ever reached the auction blocks in the Americas or the Caribbean or even Europe. that says about 15million people died in the transit. It is a testament to human strength that any body survived. I would like to say a prayer and if you feel it in your heart say it too.

Matthew 6: 9-13

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy

name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done

in earth as it is done in Heaven. Give us day by day

daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
