The Truth About Penis Size:

For as long as humans have been able to measure, men have been measuring their penis and debating the importance of a large endowment. However, there have been very few studies done to determine what actually is large, small and average.

Thanks to the porn and penis enlargement industry there has been a misconception created about what the average penis size is. In the case of the penis enlargement business the reason is obvious: They want you to "know" you have a small penis so they can sell you their product to increase it.

An often quoted study, and probably the most famous study done, the Kinsey Report, was accomplished by asking men to submit their own measurements. The average in the study came out to be 6.2 inches in length. Asking the men to submit their own measurements - and the lack of a uniform way of measuring - puts the accuracy of the study in doubt.

In studies done where the men were measured by the medical staff, such as studies published in the Journal of Urology and International Journal of Impotence Research, the average length was considerably lower with measurements of 5 inches and 5.3 inches respectively.

Another study - conducted by a condom company(LifeStyles Condoms) during Spring Break in Cancun, Mexico - found the average to be 5.9 inches.

Every study done conducted in which the measurements are done in a clinical setting and by the medical staff consistently comes out between 5-5.9 inches in length, while the average raises whenever the measurements are done by the participants themselves.

How To Gain a Measurements:

With the averages in mind, the question is obvious: How do I measure up? The important thing to properly get comparable numbers is to get an accurate measurement. The proper way to measure the length, according to Dr Greene, is with a ruler on the top. Press the ruler gently against the pubic bone, to depress the pad of fat. If you have any type of curve, straighten it out against the ruler, if possible.

To measure the girth, use either a cloth measuring tape or a piece of string. Mark where the string comes together, and then stretch it out and measure it with the ruler.

Does Size Matter?

Now that you know what you're comparing to, and what you have, either you're smiling or frowning. The next question is: Does Size Matter?

In a joint study between the University of California and the California State University 85% of participating women said they were "very satisfied" with the size of their partner's penis, and only 6% of women rated their partner as smaller than average. Whereas only 55% of men were satisfied with the size of their penis, with 45% wishing to be larger.

Just as women are often the ones more concerned about their breast size, men are far more critical of their penis size than woman are.

So does size matter? In most cases, no. While there are some women who prefer a larger than average sized penis, most women are satisfied with their man's penis - and most men have an average sized penis.

My wife wished me to have bigger penis. And I understood her because my penile size was only 5.3". After I had enlarged my penis on one inch she said that this new size was ideal for her.
