DOING BUSINESS ONLINE
STUFF means goods and services. The goods that you sell may be what you produce yourself or what somebody else manufactures. The services that you are selling online could be provided directly by you, or you are just performing the act of introducing someone who provides a service, with a view to collecting a commission every time a contract is made.
Affiliate marketing simply means being an agent for goods created by others or services provided by others. The goods could be physical stuff or information products. Information products are most convenient to sell on the Internet. They are actually e-books that are down-loadable.
The biggest advantage is, you do not need an office with a staff to assist you. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection. Your desktop PC or your laptop is the only physical tool you need.
The first step is to enroll with a company that represents information products produced by others. There are no fees to join and no monthly or annual membership fees either. Your membership is of course free and lasts a lifetime and there are no targets or time frames involved. If you succeed in selling, you get your commission.

CompuSmart is perfectly right, Blogger certainly is a great tool and can be utilized for all your e-commerce activities. He (CompuSmart) is an expert on that as well, as I have stumbled upon many of his hubs that discuss Adsense as well as ClickBank products!

As for the HubChallenge, I have so far been able to publish only five hubs. I do not regret taking up the challenge since I've already got twenty hubs fermenting in notepads. Tweaking them up until they are fit for human eyes is what takes a lot of time. In addition I have taken up a personal challenge to create a different logo for each of the thirty hubs. So I intend devoting a whole day to tweaking some of my essays, and I hope I get to publish at least 20 hubs before the deadline.

Time is a crucial factor in these work from home programs. The ones I have experimented with where money was involved I lost out mainly because they ask you if you have so many hours per week to invest and yes I did but it took a whole lot more time just to learn, take action, advertise, etc, etc. than they say it will take especially for a newbie. By that time the guarantee has ended as I felt I was just getting started and wasn't ready to turn back so therefore didn't go after the refund.

Many people think that working from home is a easy thing to do. But for many they do not realize just how much work you have to put in to make it profitable enough to live on. Plus many others are not disciplined enough to work without a boss looking over their shoulder expecting them to meet a deadline. Working from home can be done but it takes some effort.

I am a 52 year old woman who lives in the Eastern Sierra, California, and upon reading your words became a bit unsettled. I purchased my very first computer in November of 2008, having no experience whatsoever. I am what I call a 'self-taught' computer user. I am also a writer, and enjoy writing online and am loving all the possibilities the internet has to offer. But I am admittedly drawn to those sites that promise money for next to nothing!
I feel a bit silly realizing how alluring the idea of earning easy money online really is, even to a supposed 'mature' internet user.
This is hard to swallow, Quicksand, for people my age are supposed to be immune to dreams of fame and fortune. Ha!

there are too much scams out there on the Internet, however indeed there are opportunities you can make money at home, i know some freelancers. But whether or not you can make a living by doing freelance jobs, it really depends on a lot of factors.

On HubPages revenue comes from three sources. That is Adsense, Amazon, and Contera. In addition to this you can even add an affiliate link or two, associated with whatever affiliate program you are promoting. There are of course some limitations to posting affiliate links. The articles you write on HubPages should be original and should not have been published before.
On HubPages the revenue is shared between the author and HubPages on a 60/40 basis.
HubPages also has an advantage when it comes to being "picked" by search engines.
Blogs are slightly different as you have almost complete control over what you advertise. As for blogs, your advertising can be varied with no actual limitation on the promotional links that you place on them. The revenue from 100% of the adsense ads is yours. Of course one has to strike a balance here.
My suggestion is to participate in both. Promoting your pages or blogs is the vital factor here. You will find many hubs on how to promote your HubPages and blogs.
Quite apart from that, at HP there are people experienced in every possible field and are most willing to help. All you need to do is open a forum page and post your question. You will be surprised at the number of responses your query will generate.
