Ultimate Movie List For Movie Buffs: Answered

First of all, before I start jabbing away with my recommendations let me first remind you that this is not the REAL ultimate guide but more of MY ultimate guide, this is as objective as I can be, i hope you bear with me. I would also like to explain to you my criteria for choosing such films.

1. Impact

2. History

3. Box Office Bling

4. Oscar Bling

5. Just "a-damn-good-movie"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok so here goes:

1. Lord of the Rings- Why this? because this movie combines all aspects of a perfect movie, drama, tragedy, romance, comedy, fantasy, epic proportions and the like, you might want to check out The Return of the King, why, you ask? not only did it blew the box-office to pieces but also the Oscars as well, it amassed a record breaking 13 oscar wins including the not-so-important Best Picture and Best (Unshaved) Director, Peter Jackson, in all seriousness this is a movie must see, because as Aragorn said, "if you do not suffer this movie to pass, then you will suffer me", 'nuff said.

2. Titanic- If you're a romance/tragedy buff or maybe you just want to see some hot action in some steamy glass window then this movie is for you. Amassing over a billion dollars in the box office, titanic transformed the already famous Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and heck even James Cameron for all I care into overnight celebrities, if you we're not touch or did not cry when leo died due to "stiffness" (you get what I mean) then you might wanna check if you still have a pulse. A must-see for those who love to make love in Giant Ships being busted by an Iceberg (Even Global Warming Could'nt help 'em).

3. Click-Why this? why oh why oh why. to all adam sandler haters c'mon people! this movie is one of his topnotch, again if you're not attracted by Kate Beckinsale's "tight, rockin' body" then check if you still have a heartbeat, if you're just a laid back guy (like me) or gal, this flick is for you, if you want to connect with your teenage kids then this is perfect, it has good family values, where family comes first, but still not losing the real adam sandler essence, which is acting stupid, and doing all sort of weird things like farting in David Hasselhoff's Face (that's not weird that was gross).

4. The Sound of Music- Oh yeah! oh yeah! you might kill me for this but damn, this is one of my fave flicks, flicks that i would bring in an isolated island with a DVD and flatscreen, this is pure family and kid fun, nothing to worry about, no profanity, no love scenes, just the sheer joy of watching Julie Andrews dance and sing "climb every mountain" and watch Nazis taking over Austria! Now that's Family.

5. The Harry Potter Installments- Really, just any one of the 5 or upcoming 6 and 7, if you're the book buff then this one is for you, a little bit of witch craft, comedy and "wicked" fun, you may get disappointed, its not really the most faithful movie based on its adaptation from the book but nevertheless who does not want to fly on a broomstick or wear invisibility cloak? (hehe)

6.Kill Bill vol 1 and 2- Now for the Gorey buffs! this flick is for all of you bloodthirsty japanese-sword-weilding-eyepulling-scalp-removing-feet-slashing gorenographers! everything in here is hot, hot blood, hot sword and hot chicks, from Lucy Liu to the oh so luscious Uma Thurman, not convinced enough that this is a legit slash-fest? 2 words: Quentin Tarantino, 'nuff said.

7. Dawn of the Dead- So if you're not the slash-cut-your-ear type of person, then you might be a zombie, then again you might be both, running around with bacteria-wielding zombies, uhh that might be boring, but shooting and blowing them up is definitely fun (imagine living in a mall).

8.Ghost- Yeah! for those people livin' their lives during the late 80's and early 90's, this romance slash fantasy (sort of) slash suspense slash whoopie goldberg (yeah she's a genre) is definitely for you. Patrick Swayze would've wish to be alive in this flick just to repeat the pottery scene (yeah).

9. (Quadruple Combo) Jaws/Silence of the Lambs/Psycho/The Excorcist- Need i say more? These flicks will pop your freakin' heart out even if you don't have one.

10. The Star Wars Saga- Not many people lived to see or even finish the 6 epic saga that was Star Wars, everything from start to finish was a stroke of genius, and also became the pop culture of our decade and the previous decade, if you don't agree then take Obi Wan's Word; "if you're not with me then you are my enemy" .(uh Dubya?)

Well, well, well, not the turn-out you expected?, you can always comment on this blog. As i have said this is purely my opinion, it is your choice if you agree or disagree, i believe that there are other great films out there that i have not mentioned that deserves and even surpassed what i have included up there. but if ever the world would end and i have to watch ten movies before i'll die then you bet'cha i'ma pop this in my DVD my friend. Thanks For visitin'
