The Unemployment Line

Still Waiting in the Unemployment Line?
Are you still waiting in the unemployment line, collecting what you can to stay afloat and still no job in site?
O h I thought that the recession was almost over? So why are we still seeing lay off’s and unemployment rise?
These are some really tough questions and I wish that I had all the answers but I don’t and neither does anyone else. What I do know is that the unemployment rate is grossly understated and not only are you looking for work with the millions recorded you also have millions more that are not collecting unemployment.
These unemployment figures are not counting the self employed that aren’t on the unemployment rolls. That would be the baby sitter, the seasonal worker, the waitress that doesn’t get called in anymore and was only part time with no previous work established, and the list goes on.
Where do you Live?
It also depends on where you live in the country that is dictating your chances of getting a job.
According to HIS
Global Insight, Washington, D.C. will be the first to recover. Mainly because
of federal employment, with that the D.C. job market will be able to recover
within the next year.
Yet, moms and dads outside this area will have to wait a little longer,
especially if you are in the Northeast and the Midwest.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Utah, Texas, New Mexico, Alaska, Montana
and Virginia should begin to see jobs returning by the year 2011, and states
like Illinois, Vermont and Nevada seeing recovery by 2013.
But some states, such as Michigan and Ohio, hang on because your recovery is
not expected to come around till 2015.
Employment is in your hands
Every person out there has the same opportunity to take their economic future into their own hands.
You have already seen the slow use of stimulus money and any
noticeable impact from this money is hard to find.
No one should be waiting for the job markets to return to pre-recession times.
Waiting is not and should not be an option. Waiting is the wrong attitude.
Ordinary people, like you and me, that have the entrepreneurial spirit to
undertake your own enterprise will be the success of this recession. The power
of the people not the power of government
If you take the time to work harder than ever now you will be poised to ride
the front wave of the rebound when the recovery does happen. Now is not the
time to wait, successful businesses are best created when there is a recession.
Recessions Will Come Again
You can fight back in this recession and recessions of the future by joining others in building their own economies.
Finding out how and where to go is no longer a difficult task. Feeling safe and having an ongoing education is always key.
My recommendation to you is to look into a sound internet business and see if it looks like something that will be a fit for you and your family. Sitting at home wondering and hoping is a non-productive use of talent and passion.

In the past 2 weeks in my city there have been 14 new start-up businesses get licensed. That is 1 per day! People are taking responsibility for creating a work environment for themselves. These businesses were not necessarily Internet based, but the creation of any business is what this economy needs. This is the best time to start a business - if you can survive now you will thrive in a few years. Get the training and start your self-employed experience and reap the rewards in the coming years.
I am sorry to say that it will probably get worse before it gets any better. In hard economic times people usually turn to a home business of some type, but many will fail because they did not get the needed training. Remember to treat your business as a business and not a hobby!
Angela,
Your right, we all have a chance to change our future for the better. Only if stop sitting around hoping for the next great thing to happen.
Angela thanks for posting this article because so many of us need to to hear "What are you waiting for?"

Right now is the perfect opportuniy for people to take there lifes back, and the only way to do that is by becoming your own boss.
Ressions will come and go, Presidents will come and go but one thing is for certain if your not in control of your own destiny you will fail victum to the unemployment line.

Great article, Angela. The unemployment rate was reported at 10.2% today, higher than what the experts had projected. When you include those who have given up looking for work, the rate is far higher, just like you said.
As you stated, the unemployment picture depends very much on where you live. I do sympathize with those living in depressed areas.
On the other hand, if you have an entrepreneurial spirit, you should not be dragged down by the economic downturn.
Internet marketing businesses represent an industry that is seeing significant growth during this recession. It's not an easy ride. You must work hard and smart. You must get the best internet training as Angela suggests. Waiting to see if the economy soon recovers is not an alternative if you want to take control of your life.
Helping those who are going through their own recession is a powerful way to grow your business and live your life.
