The Villages of Central Florida

The Villages of Central Florida are one the most talked about retirement communities in Florida if not the United States. Even on the Presidential Campaign it was one of the stops for McCain and Palin. The Villages are predominently a republican community since the owners are staunch republicans.

As of December 2008, the population of The Villages is over 70,000 There are now over 35,000 homes that encircle the town of Lady Lake. The Villages lie in Central Florida, approximately 20 miles south of Ocala and approximately 45 miles northwest of Orlando.
