The Walrus and the Penguin

Republished for your pleasure, a silly thing that popped into my head.

The walrus said to the penguin, come, let us dine.

We’ll have wine from an oyster shell and feast on arctic krill.

Afterwards when we have our belly full I’ll take you to the moon

As I caress your lovely feathers in my arms and make you swoon.

I’ll give you so much more than ever you had before.

As I play you like a golden harp like only angels dare.

Come with me my lovely beauty as we swim in salty sea.

Let me feel your bonnie bosom now, come make love with me.

I hear the beat of lonesome heart, as my ear is close on thee.

Why art thou so lovely, so alluring, and so absorbing to my soul?

I am rapt to be near thy spotless thy belly of pristine snow?

My heart cannot drum without you, I need, I love you so.

Said the penguin to the walrus, No I dare not love you now.

Your words are so appealing as you speak them cunningly.

My heart belongs to other, my mate who fishes below.

My love that’s in the shadows seeking, I do love him so.

But come my love said walrus, if only for this once to love.

I promise not to harm you but only hold you in this way.

While odds of love are fleeting, when it chances to your soul

Grab it whilst you can, for this love I have is bold.

Come my lovely penguin to the oyster shell, the wine!

We’ll listen to the roaring rhythm of waves from Blue Ocean

Pounding on these shores with sexy foam upon the sand.

I will caress you softly dearest as none other can.

Let me kiss you sweetly as we make love on bed of green kelp.

The penguin followed with him onto the beach the loving deed soon done.

The oyster shells lay empty the krill was wholly gone.

The blue ocean seemed sadly singing a sadly sorry song.

The walrus had seduced her and she like the silly dove

Lay exhausted on the briny beach as mate watched in glaring sun.

Walrus left the lovely penguin spoiled broken upon the lover’s bed

Leaving her to watch as crabs came to feast upon her silly head.

I'm speechless! You are a master of the pen. You led me one way and then utterly turned me around at the end. I wasn't expecting a tragedy. Now I'm going to sigh, and sob a bit and wonder why one creature needs to devour another to survive when there's so much beauty in the universe!

Grab it whilst you can, for this love I have is bold.

--and I’ll give you so much more than ever you had before."

You don't know how much this poem crushed me. This - by far is the most wonderful poem i have ever read. I read it many times. You know i always joke around. But you got me serious with this one. Made me feel sad but no silly head here. Thanks CC. This is my favorite poem of all time.

Your poem made me think of a fantasy perhaps of a love story under the sea, have you already done one? You've been taken into the heavens and in and out of so many places, you most likely knew a mermaid or two in your time, I'll betcha..wink wink...Thank you for this poem, such a struggle between lust, love and loyalty...as lust alway wins...sigh!!!! Hugs, dear CC.

Yes Deborah, I have had many travels and seen many things. Two things just never really 'turned' me on, mermaids and unicorns. How would one love a mermaid? Fish don't do coitus. Ahh lust. It's a powerful emotion like a magnet pulling on iron almost. Thanks darlin'. CC hugs back
