Hi. I live in Arlington, VA, home to the Pentagon, and gateway to the Nation's Capital. I wanted to take a few minutes to speak to you about a few ways technology has changed our world.

How Technology Is Changing the Way We Do Business

In the "good old days," when someone wanted to exercise, they put on their walking or running shoes and hit the streets, or went to the gym. Then quality exercise machines were designed for home use so folks could work out regardless of the weather or time constraints.

But now, physical health just got more exciting. Along comes the Wii Fit from Nintendo - a video game console designed for exercising.

Wii Fitis a unique entry into the video game arena. According to industry experts, It already appeals to a wide audience, including women, families, Baby Boomers and other non-traditional gamers. Why? Because the Wii is easy. It's the first video game console based on physical movement rather than mashing complicated button patterns.

How Does Wii Fit Work?

The Wii Fitis another first in video game history. Bundled with the Wii Fitgaming system is a wireless balance board peripheral capable of holding up to 300 pounds. It is essentially the "controller" for Wii Fit exercise video games. When first booting up, Wii Fitusers are asked to enter in their height, weight and age. The Wii Fit calculates and tracks your Body Mass Index (BMI), or body fat ratio, for your progress. Should you want to start a BMI-loss plan, Wii Fitasks for your goals, tracks it with fun graphs and even tells you when you're shooting too high, too fast.

The Wii Fit balance board is split into four quadrants - the idea being that maintaining your balance means you're doing the movements right. Wii Fit responds to every action, knowing when you're doing push ups wrong – or not at all – as well as when your lunges are on target. When you achieve accurate balance, as indicated by the dot staying in balance zone box, you'll build up muscles in the process.

Wii Fit tracks a user's "Wii Fitness Age" through a body test basing the result on the user's current age, weight, and athletic ability.

What Games and Exercises Are Included?

Training on Wii Fit is divided into four categories:

  • Yoga
  • Strength training, like squats, leg lifts, torso twists and even arm strength training.
  • Aerobics, including jogging, hula hooping, boxing and step aerobics
  • Balance games, like slalom and jump skiing, soccer and even walking a tightrope.

The activities provide a core workout, emphasizing controlled movements rather than overexertion.

It is anticipated that the Wii Fit will be as difficult to get as the original Wii game consoles were due to its popularity.

Technology, indeed, is changing the way we conduct our lives!

How Technology Has Changed Network Marketing

Again, in the "good old days," people engaged in Network Marketing or MLM were taught that the life blood of their business was finding prospects - that is - other like minded individuals who might be interested in the same business opportunity.

The old fashioned way to accomplish this was to do things like make lists of family, friends, and associates. And, using the "three foot rule," meaning talk to everyone within three feet of you about the opportunity. And, when those prospects ran out, start over, or buy opportunity leads from some vendor.

But now, prospecting and recruiting just got a lot more exciting - not to mention more effective - with the Internet!

Forward thinking individuals like Ann Seig, the Renegade Network Marketer and Mike Klingler, creator of the Renegade University have developed more effective ways to generate leads or prospects using attraction marketing and the power of the Internet. Rather than exposing the business to people who most likely have no interest, the power of the internet allows you to attract prospects to your website asking for more information.

Not only is the process "cleaner," connecting like-minded individuals, but the level of exposure is increased exponentially.

Viva La Internet!

So in closing, technology will continue to change and enhance our lives. I challenge you by what ever method to get fit and stay fit. And, if you are interested in the internet marketing concept, please explore the many links at this site.

Wishing you all the best!
