Luo Han Guo


For non-Chinese, probably "Luo Han Guo" is a very strange thing. After some findings, the common name for this fruit in English is called "Momordica Fruit". Basically it is a fruit commonly used as traditional herbal among the Chinese, and gradually people has made it becomes a common herbal tea.

Recently I had read some articles about this fruit and found it is a wonderful fruit that benefit to our health. How come I don't share it out?

Well, Luo Han Guo is always commonly used to treat chronic cough, sore throat, lung congestion and constipation. Also, Luo Han Guo tea is one of the common herbal tea that helps to reduce internal body heat and it is very popular in tropical countries because of its warm weather. Anyway, now I only realized that Luo Han Guo has more goodness than these. Let us see what other goodness we can obtain from this wonderful fruit:

1. Sweetener

It is an intensively sweet fruit and estimated to be about 300 times sweeter than sugar but noncaloric. Hence it can be used as sugar substitude.

2. Antioxidant

Recent research shows that Luo Han Guo has 5 different mognosides which will work as antioxidant and helps to prevent cancer.

3. Diabetes

It is said that Luo Han Gua can be used as a remedy for diabetes. Study shown that the mognosides will not only unable to raise blood sugar, instead it can slow the entrance of sugar into the blood.

4. Heart Disease

Mognosides in Luo Han Guo can prevent the oxidation of LDL and protect against heart disease.

As we can see, this is an amazing food that enable to take it daily. The cost for a piece of Luo Han Guo is not high, and most essential, so far there are no negative side effects of the fruit has been reported.
