The best Anti Spyware

Anti Spyware: What it is, what you need.
If you're here, you're probably worried about spyware coming into your computer, or worse, worried that it's already in. Well good news, I have found one of the greatest anti spyware ever. Anti Spyware is software that stops spyware from coming into your computer. Dont know what spyware is? Then keep reading, it could mean the difference of 400 dollars soon.
My name is David, I'm an A+ Certified computer technician, and I deal with malicious software (Viruses, Trojans, Keyloggers, Spyware, Adware, Worms, etc) on a daily basis, and in the past 10 years, I've never seen an anti spyware prgram that can do what this one can.
What anti spyware program is the best?
I've tested just about every leading brand anti spyware program there is, from Spysweeper, to Trend Micro with anti spyware, to Spybot: Search and Destroy, and I can tell you right now, after years of experience in the field of computer repair, that not a single one of them stack up against this anti spyware program.
How Anti Spyware works
There are roughly 2000 viruses and malicious software created on a -daily- basis, and roughly 40% of that is spyware software. Whats this mean? Well, you need to understand how anti spyware programs work.
When an anti spyware program updates, it updates its "definitions file" which means it is basically updating its library with all the currently discovered spyware programs that the company that makes the said anti spyware program have found, and sadly, they rarely find them all. From that point on, you are unprotected from ANY new programs created, and if you have your anti spyware program set to update once a day, that means that roughly 800 NEW spyware programs have been created in between your updates to whatever anti spyware program you have.
On top of that, many programs such as Norton, Mcafee, and Trend micro, only offer anti spyware as a "side dish" so to speak, they do not work as hard on there anti spyware as they do with the antivirus portion of the program. (You would think that would mean they would have great anti virus because of this... but thats another story all together.)
So what makes Spyware Remover so much better? They work 24/7, they offer removal support for all spyware software, just in case one gets in before they update, and even a customer community to talk about what the latest threats are, so you can be warned before you get it in case there is an outbreak.
So what IS spyware?
Spyware is software that can come into your computer to help feed adware programs. They are programs that normally do not harm your computer, but sit in the back, eating up system resources, and collecting data over any and everything you do on the computer, sending it back to the company that made the spyware, allowing them to have detailed reports of what you do on the computer. Why do they do this? For marketing purposes. If they know you like to read about cars a lot, you might suddenly start getting pop ups every time you sign into the internet, asking you to visit a site about cars, buy a new type of car wax, pay ungodly amounts of money to join a website that shows pictures of cars, or anything of that nature.
On top of that, when software such as Spyware, Adware, or Viruses get into your computer, they often open ports (think of these like doorways into your computer) for other malicious software to come in and do what they want, meaning that when you get one in your computer, the rest are going to follow.
I'm not worried, if it happens, I'll have someone else fix it
If you do not get this repaired on your own, you will end up having to bring your computer to a computer repair store, which WILL cost anywheres between $80 (small local town shop) up to and including $349 (name brand companies, I'll use the term "Seek Guad" here.)
Thinks thats bad? well it gets worse. These companies consider malicious software removal the bread and butter of the business, they LOVE people who have Norton, Mcafee, and trend micro, often even supporting the products, just to get you back. On top of that, these companies will repair the problem, charge you an arm and a leg, then not tell you anything about how to prevent this from happening besides "Don't go to dangerous sites" and send you on your way, sadly, it's often hard to tell if a site is dangerous, often impossible even. Why do they do this? Because they want you to spend more later. I've seen time and time again the same person having to go back to a repair shop every month, simply because they would not tell him how to avoid getting spyware, and that the anti spyware product on the computer (if any) is useless.
But, that's why I'm here, telling you this. Because people I personally know, friends and family, are getting ripped off by these companies.
Ok, how do I get rid of it myself? Use anti spyware?
Well, The first step is to get an anti spyware that is worth having. If your going to spend money on a program, it had better work, right? Right. Spyware Remover is, after literally years of research and testing, the absolute best anti spyware program I have ever come across. I don't know where I would be without this anti spyware.
Well I have Norton/Trend Micro/McAfee, I'm Safe.
I hear that exact line from TONS of people. One of my good friends dad had a virus problem, I was asked to come over, and when I did, I saw he had Norton on his computer, I told him about what I know, and he literally became angry at me for downsizing Norton. I asked him to let me prove it, and used my 3 programs (Which I will be mentioning soon) and found over 100 malicious softwares on his computer, proving Norton was junk...oddly, he seemed to have been brainwashed, insisting that Norton was the best program on the face of the earth... I couldn't save him, but I'm going to save you.
heres the top 3 programs I always hear people bragging they have, having them tell me "I have _____ and it hasn't found a thing, so I KNOW I'm safe" only to have me scan with my programs, including the anti spyware program Spyware Remover and proving them wrong, not once have I scanned a computer with these installed and not found anything:
Norton Anti virus: This is a product that BestBuy sales reps love pushing onto older folks when they buy a computer.
Trend Micro: This is the product Geeksquad will push if you talk to them instead of the BestBuy sales reps
Mcafee: They have a teamup with ISP providers such as Comcast, being a free download for everyone who uses that internet service, meaning THOUSANDS of computer owners natrually migrate to it just because its "free", not because it's good.
Now, do you find it odd that Geeksquad, and BestBuy, support 2 different products depending on if you talk to the sales reps or GeekSquad, considering they are the same people, and the same company? BestBuy owns GeekSquad, why don't they all support the same thing? To give diversity, and neither of which are very good. Once you download that, they KNOW you will be coming back soon, why? Because you fell for there "Best programs ever" and they charge $349 +tax to remove any malicious software. I've heard, first hand by GeekSquad staff, "Advanced Diagnostics and Repair (ie Virus removal) is our bread and butter." funny, no?
But my security software has anti virus AND anti spyware, isn't that a good deal?
Sadly, no. Companies like Norton, Trend micro, Mcafee, they create an antivirus, and throw anti spyware into the package to hook people quickly, making them think you get a 2 for 1 deal, but this is not the case. What has happened, is that these companies have cut there work from trying to make one top notch antivirus, into making 2x sub-par programs, a mediocre antivirus, and a junk anti spyware, since they're main goal is to stop viruses, the anti spyware portion lacks even more. These are honestly, completely junk, and are not worth a single penny.
Also, anti virus, anti spyware, and anti adware can look the same in a programmers eye. When your anti spyware does a scan, it can find a virus, or adware, by accident, because the coding looks similar sometimes. anti spyware, and anti adware often find the same things, but one will always find more than the other (anti spyware will always find more spyware, anti adware will always find more adware) Often, they will market this anomaly as a second bonus, which programs do this and which programs divide the teams I am not sure, but I do know never to trust a program designed for one use, to be used for another.
Okay, I have all anti spyware, anti adware, and anti virus, now what?
You will want to let them run in the background at all times, when installing them, allow the option "Start program when computer starts." Once done, make sure to ALWAYS keep them updated, allow for automatic updates if you can, or do a manual update every day. this will allow them to stay updated, and to continuously watch your computer, nothing like having a team of body guards 24/7. on top of that, do a routine scan once a week (I set mine to every Sunday morning at 4am, my computer stays turned on, and I'm sleeping still.)
With those programs, you can be as safe as you can without disconnecting from the internet.
You're now protected with anti spyware, anti virus, and anti adware!
With all that said, I hope I manage to help some people out, and save people a few hundred (thousands even?) dollars from having to bring there computer into a shop to be repaired. Keep in mind, your anti spyware is one of the legs of protection, often spyware will come in first, followed by adware, then the actual viruses. With a strong anti spyware, you will never have to bring your computer into a shop again, and you will be safe to surf the web as you please, without worry of spyware watching your every move.

Something to say about Anti Spyware?
really good information, thanks
Muzzy: Thanks for the compliments, about your additions, zone alarm is a firewall, which is pointless, anyone who has a router is behind a firewall which about 90% of people have nowadays, along with that windows firewall does fine.
as far as anti-keylogger goes, thats pretty pointless to have, as a good anti virus will cover your bases when it comes to that, thats why i suggested XoftspySE
Hey great information Dragn!
thanks joe :) thanks for reading
It's so rare these days to find a knowledgeable person who stands AGAINST security suites. Huge packages are priced so high partially because of their installation size (good if under 100 megs). My strong belief is that a separate antivirus + stand-alone antispyware (or anti-malware, as these are called now) make a nice security shield. Currently I'm running avast! Pro + SUPERAntiSpyware (was lucky to get a free lifetime license) and fell happy enough about it ;)

Really great article. The only thing I would like to add are two more programs, that I recommend to install in addition to these three, so they are: Zone Alarm Pro firewall(http://www.zonealarm.com) and Privacy Keyboard anti-keylogger(http://www.anti-keylogger.com)
