Free Internet Marketing Tools.

Google has great free tools for AdWords and AdSense. You can be sure their stuff is being upgraded constantly too. The best marketing tools should be from Google, after all they are the biggest and many would say the best search engine out there, and as the tools they provide are in line with their own policies, they should always be the best, or the "bees knees"

They are the bees knees............. if you learn how to use them!

We are all trying to make money based on Google liking our site no matter what it is we are selling online. So who knows Google better than Google does? The answer ...nobody.

Google's best interests are served if you make money and have a working business that grows to make more money for you, and Google, and their tools are designed to allow you to do just that.

If you are found on Google you will have little trouble being found on the other search engines too.

Googles tools start with the Google search page we use every day. The top right corner will tell you how many people are searching for the words you typed in and are considering using as keywords.

Google trends will show you what is currently popular with people searching online.

Google AdWords Keyword Tool is very good at finding high value keywords which can be used in SEO as well as AdWords campaigns.

Google-desk is a fine place to get all the google tools from one page, providing focused category searches and access to Google analytics, which is a must-have for anyone marketing online.

The hardest thing to do is find lucrative niche markets. Unless you are writing or making pages just for fun (like many of my hubpages) it is pointless to build content (write articles) aimed at a niche if that niche will not make money.

Articles that bring buyers to a page or hub is what matters. Just because I love the subject I choose to pursue does not mean that it will sell products. This applies to all sorts of markets from hard goods to AdSense income.

The market comes first. Before you write your next hubpage, blog or website, try doing keyword research first. You may get stacks of hits but are they hits from buyers or readers? Tools for this purpose should show you the price of your chosen keywords, and that of your competition.

Ern's choice.

Spyfu is a nice tool.

It finds more effective niche related keywords. It finds long-tail keywords or keyword phrases. It sees competitors keywords as well.Available from spyfu.com It is crippled down to ten results for the free version, and you can pay monthly for the full version.

Although many tools are great it takes time to learn so take it slowly and don't miss anything.

There are many other good keyword research tools, but it is important to put the horse before the cart and use the tool that will best help you find not the keywords alone, but the rich niche market itself.

aukdat. Keyword density tool.

This is another very helpful free tool from article underground.com . It can see inside hubpages and reach your hub, something many tools keyword tools cannot do.

Tangible markets.

A prime example of a tangible market would be Plumbing. A plumber selling his service online already has a viable market. His viable market would be people who wanted a plumber. There are Millions of plumbers, they all advertise on their trucks and offices and in newspapers and on the Internet, so how does our plumber reach his customers? He only targets customers close to home in his local area.

He could get lucky if he has a good local area name then he can simply call his web page something like Blue Lagoon Plumbing if he lives in Blue Lagoon, he can get free listings for his area online and uses the location in a few keywords to narrow down his market and get good sales from his targeted market.

AdWords.

The same plumber with a simple AdWords campaign targeting his area with his location name much as he would in a newspaper will get the front page of Google for good long-tail keywords like "blue lagoon plumber" quite easily. He can afford the ad campaign and may make a good profit after his ad budget. He may also collect ads from local handyman and plumbing stores on his own page that pay his costs of advertising, or start an online plumbers store himself, the ideas around plumbing provide many smaller plumbing related markets.

A viable cyber market can make money too. To make money you still need to go slow and build presence, and I will get in to that in a minute, but for now viable means viable for most people as opposed to only those who have a lot of money to start with.

Anyone making big money is also spending lots of man hours and money to do so. Despite the screaming red headlines to the contrary making good money takes a lot of both money and time.

Information about your marketing.

  • Are you in a solid niche of potential paying customers?
  • Which keywords are making you money? Which new keywords will make you more money.
  • Where are you leaking sales?
  • Where are you losing sales in the sales funnel?

Tools for finding viable markets.

Many tools have several functions each related to finding keywords and keyword information suitable for use in viable markets, but some are weaker or stronger for different jobs or easier to work with depending on the user and how the user thinks. New uses for tools emerge though creative thinking and combining results from several tools.

Information about your competitors marketing.

  • What keyword are they using?
  • What are they paying (if anything) for their keywords?
  • How many keywords do they have?
  • How long have they been in business?
  • Who owns their site?
  • Are they making money?
  • If so which keywords are making that money.

If you can't answer enough of these questions you wont earn a living!

Other apparently unrelated software and tools are always worth keeping up with and can save you a mass of time, by getting specific information, or processing your data so that you can use it and understand it.

Other tools for finding information about your competitions marketing.

When reading the sales pitch from Internet marketers selling Internet marketing tools, you could be lead to believe that these tools are better than the Google tools. The marketing is often confusing because of all the hype. A tool sold as designed for AdWords may work great for AdSense and vice versa as just one example. The marketing only confuses the buyer with outrageous claims of making your job so easy that a dog could do it.

The reason experienced marketers use tools like wordtracker is to look for any money keywords that others miss.

It can be hard to keep a track of what tools are. needed for marketing. All tools that gather information for you are not equal in providing you with the information you need in one operation. This makes marketing a bit like building a car. Many parts have to be put together and must fit in the right order. The information you gather forms the basis of your decision making and is directly related to income. The information gathered serves four main functions for most people

The four main functions

  1. Finding niches.
  2. finding good keywords for those niches.
  3. making long-tail keywords.
  4. Building related keyword lists.

Tools for finding information about your marketing.

There is good free keyword software that you can keep on your hard drive.

Good Keywords.

Good keywords is a small Keyword generator that you can do a lot with. It is well supported and totally free. It works very well to help you get ideas or generate keywords. It comes from Snap Files (previously Web-Attack) so you know it is good.

you will find it and keyword crawler here.

Keyword Crawler is free at snap-files. It crawls your pages and generates a list of keywords that were found and list them in order of occurrence. It also counts and displays internal links and broken links, word density, and retrieve the Google page rank for each page. Keyword Crawler can also generate a Google XML site map for you.

Thank you newsworthy, it may be a while before we can retire out of hubpages with big bucks!!

I will be growing this hub as I test more and more of these tools.

You are right, it is hard to find the time, so I will make an effort to put them all in one place. The no-bulldust comment is much appreciated.

Great Hub, I've been using spyfu for awhile and get info from it. I can't be sure I use it all properly but its a great tool. I'm focusing most of my time in using trust marketing to increase sales and spyfu lets me do the "spying" I need.

Best,

Mike

Good piece on keyword research and site optimisation for keywords. The list of questions one's marketing strategies and strength, and the ones on the kind of marketing one's competitors are holding, are are good checklist.

A good reminder to the lot of us who still look further than the very search engine whose rhythms we want to please. Google is the most popular search engine indeed, and the tools they provide are free and superb. Still, the other tools you provide I may have to check out myself. You've written a good self-help guide to self-starters who may want to draw targeted traffic to their sites. I've always wondered about the average time and how long one should devote to that kind of work, and when it's reasonable to outsource the job.

Thanks Robert and onlinemarketingsc. The reason Google is the online Gorilla is because the results of any given search are more relevant overall than the others, and results from other engines are on Google most of the time anyway.
