For the second time in a weeks span the boxing world mourns another tragic death. This time former champion Arturo Gatti, murdered in Brazil. It follows the strange death of another former champion Alexis Arguello, last week. Gatti's wife is in custody, after being interviewed by police. Cause of death has been stated as blow to the head and strangulation with the straps of a purse found at the scene. Mrs Gatti could not explain how she spent ten hours in the hotel room with him after he was dead and didn't realize it. Seems this case is pretty much solved. Friends say despite the couple being on their second honeymoon at the time of death, they were having problems and were ready to formally file for seperation. Gatti was a much loved champion, known for his straight ahead style, never backing down and fearlessness. he was a very big draw in atlantic city, even though originally from canada. his wife, is a Brazilian native. There seems to be no "they lived happily ever after" in sports or entertainment this month. Money and fame do not predict a long and happy life.
