The difference between faith and trust in God or (HP) Higher Power not the other hp
74Its your will and life right?
Hello again friends I'm to answer a request about what my faith has done for me or others that I've been allowed to serve(my words) and I've kinda turned the question around abit. You see for me faith is seeing something or someone DO something. Trust is different its KNOWING that God or your Higher Power will DO something for you. Something perhaps you cannot do by yourself for someone else(best kind of thing to have God do for you). I'd like to put it in a clearer picture for whomever reads this (are you game?). Suppose you were watching a man move a wheelbarrow across a guy wire back and forth and back and forth a few times successfully(the story doesn't work if he falls woo hoo!) Well then the NEXT time he started across you would have FAITH that he could do it right. But if you TRUSTED(see God or HP) him to do it YOU could GET in the wheelbarrow and ride acrossed slightly amused at the onlookers who were watching. You see dear reader I saw other people recover from alcoholism(its a terminal illness don't kid yourself) that was God's demonstration for me to have faith. After the overwhelming desire to drink was lifted(thats really how it happens) from me I trusted him and the more I trusted him the more things he did for me. I personally have helped sick people get out of beds and walk by speaking to them when the pleadings of family and physical therapists might as well have been mute. They had faith in themselves restored by Gods trust thru me. I have no formal training in physical therapy but I can and do get people to do things for themselves again. I merely remind them that God is there with us THEY FEEL IT and respond. Its a beautful thing to witness and even be part of the ordinary miracles that he performs and you can sense that they are simply God's grace back to them and me as well. Grace by the way is defined as unmerited favor(think about that for a minute) or and while I'm rummaging around in the Funk and Wagnalls the word Cure is defined as spiritual care the solution for alcoholism. End of story. ove Michael
