After completing my first website and uploading it, what did I do next? Yes submit it to Major Search engines like Google and Yahoo.   I think almost 75% of us do the same. We dream of getting listed in Google instantly and getting many hits to our website/blog. But the reverse is truth. It will take atleast 2-3 weeks, sometimes months to get listed in search engine. So what can I do to get listed in search engine quickly? Paid service? That’s your choice. Pay $200-$300. :O If you are starter you will definitely pay for the service. What if the same thing can be done yourself for FREE. There is no big secret in getting listed quickly. What the paid service providers do is they link your URL to a page having higher PageRanks. That’s all.

But before you upload/submit your website/webpage/blog make sure it is SEO friendly. Try applying basic SEO principles.

If you are able to get a PR6 and above website and link your website/blog to it, then you  are sure to get indexed within 24hrs plus you will get massive web traffic from  them. But be cautious while selecting website. You should choose a website that has content related to yours. If you post a link on high PageRank website having content not related to yours, then it will be considered as spam. I know its easy to say all these but its very difficult to get a link on PageRank 6 and above wesite. Website owners may not like to link your webpage. You will  have to persuade them to link your website. Also it is not that difficult to persuade web owners to get a link. Just send a mail to webmaster . Just be sure your email is perfect.

Most of the web gurus follow this procedure to get indexed quicker. There are still many more free methods to get indexed. You may be aware of some of these methods. Some of the easy methods to get indexed quicker are

Twitter : Create an account in twitter, set your website as your homepage in your twitter profile.  Twitter is PR8 site. So you can see your webpage visible in Google/Yahoo instantly. J

Try the same with Facebook, Myspace etc.

Youtube : Post videos in video streaming wesites and put a link to your webpage in video description.
