As a teenager, I use to wonder who I would marry, would we have kids, would she be my soul mate? It seems like the more I dated back then, the less I believed in love. I decided to make life "A long Party!" At the age of 21, I moved to Richmond Indiana. Richmond bordered the Ohio line.
I was working with a guy named, Dave, who was repairing cars in his garage. In the little town of Eldorado Ohio, there wasn't much work so we took lots of beer breaks. Almost every day we would go get parts at Geetings Auto which was located in West Manchester Ohio.
One day we pulled away from Geetings and we noticed two pretty girls walking down the sidewalk. One girl was a little taller than the other one. I didn't take my eyes off of the taller girl. I grinned at her and she smiled back as we drove by. I felt something but had no idea what it was.
Dave saw my reaction and asked me if I wanted to stop and talk to the girls. I don't know why but I said no. About two weeks later, Dave's house burned down and my part time job was over. I thought of the pretty girl in West Manchester many times after that day. I always wondered if I should have stopped and talked to her.
Twelve years later I met a girl in the worst bar within 100 miles, the Golden Nugget. She walked in the bar that night and the world disappeared to me. I couldn't take my eyes or mind off of her. We danced and talked until late morning. I made a date with her to go to the beach with her and her two children.
We talked on her front step every night and got to know each other pretty well. We both had been in bad relationships and decided to leave them in the past. We focused on our future together. We were madly in love and it was a whirlwind romance.
We got married two months after we met. We got married in her home town of West Manchester Ohio She was the girl I saw that day. She is the woman I see now. Still madly in love! Sometimes, fate is a little late!
I did find.....The girl of my dreams.

Great love story. We all think that we are the ones that pick or choose the people in our lives, but sometimes Mr. Fate, just steps in and gives us that---push.

fate is never late, it always happens at the right time - you were probably too stoned to notice! i always knew you're the sweetest stoner ever ever! LOL
hey I'm happy for you guys - it proves beautiful things have happened and is happening in the world :D
Btw, I did not go on vacation but how I wish I did. Work gets in the way and you know Christimas is right around the corner - should I move? LYM
Cris....Christmas? Crap...did they move it to September? Jesus is going to be so pissed!
Yip...beautiful things do happen!
I'm thinkin' Idaho? Ever smoke taters?
I'm rambling...sleepy...going to bed....see ya tomorrow! LYM! :)
Rambling? I envy your state of mind! I always wanted to "ramble". No, I never had taters before. But what are friends for? *wink* goodnight my friend, hope you wake up crazier! :D
Fate is a funny thing isn't it? My cousin was a real catch for you wasn't she? And I think she did well too. This is a great story Tom. I really enjoy these tales from Piqua from the both of you.
Cris...rambling is easy...just think about everything at once and let the words fall out of the ride....like a wagon full of ping pong balls on a bumpy road. Still waking up....yawn....LYM! :)
ralwus....she was the perfect catch!...thanks to you...I now know that I married into royalty...off to have a peasant manicure my big toes! :)
I need to do my toes too. Oh my. Well your wife is defined royal in my book regardless of our shared heritage.
ralwus...thanks...yip she is! :)
No way! What a great, romantic story!
Christoph....took me 12 years to catch back up with fate. I can be a little slow sometimes. :)
Tom, I read this story over the weekend, and I have to admit that I am a strong believer in faith. I think that this is a wonderful love story. How fortunate the both of you are. -superhugs-
AIDY....thanks...we are fortunate...I was guided to her once but it wasn't the right time. There is a smile...there is a sparkle in the eyes...somehow you just know it. We can't find love...love has to find us together. Keep smiling! Big hugs! :)
i love your hub
arisel...thank you much! :)
What a wonderful story i love your hub
Lgali...thanks so much! :)
That was so beautiful...
My mom had a similar story. As a kid growing up in San Diego she remembered always seeing a little boy playing in a big yard of a house right on the Blvd that her Grandparents would drive down frequently. She always remembered that boy and wished she could have played with him.... After a failed marriage of over 30 years she found my step dad (the love of her life) and she took him to where she grew up. On the way they drove past the house on the Blvd and he said "This was where I lived as a kid" and my mom was so shocked! That was the boy she used to see playing in thebig yard, the one she longed to play with.....she finally had found him! Sadly after 10 years together he passed away from Cancer. But she was happy to have had him.
Pachuca...thanks so much....wow...a wonderful story that you just told. Life can be so beautiful! Love does find us all...in time. Thanks again. :)
Tom, you are a master story teller. You keep the suspense until the end. I like it! Keep 'em coming.
Thank you, sweetie, for telling our story so wonderfully...you are just THE BEST! Sure wish I still looked like those pics, though, lol...:) ~hugs~
fastfreta....thanks so much....I love your smile! :)
Tammy....As our bodies grow older....our souls become more beautiful through the eyes of love. Still the prettiest girl in the world to me. :)
You always know the perfect thing to say, thank you...:)
