When I was a child, my parents divorced and my mom eventually met someone new and married. We moved into a house that we thought was normal.

I used to sleep upstairs in this old house, the stairs were small and right in the middle of the kitchen. Several nights I would wake up from my sleep and see someone standing at the end of my bed. My heart would start pounding; I was so scared I could not breathe. I would ever so slowly pull the covers up to my chin and then move them over my eyes. I never saw who this person was but I knew it was someone small, like a child. I never saw a face and they appeared dressed in black. Over the next 4 years, I would see this person only about 10 times. I never told my sister or brother or my mother. I was afraid of what they would say. I was a child after all and who believes a kid.

I grew up and moved out my family continued to stay in the house for thirty years. I guess it was about 6 years ago when my sister and my brothers started talking about the little girl in the house. I have to say the surprise on all of our faces was great. One of my brothers continued to live in the house after my mother had moved out. It started with my brother telling us that he had seen the girl again and she scared his new wife. We started sharing stories of when we had seen her and that we never wanted to tell anyone.

We had all seen her, so that was established and we knew that she did not want to hurt us. I mean she grew up with my three brothers and my sister and I. My brother had just gotten married and his wife was at the house with her son. She had to go take a shower and she hears her son screaming at the top of his lungs. Jumping out of the shower, she runs out of the bathroom to find her son. He is running down the street screaming. After getting him and swearing that they would leave, he tells her that the upstairs door opened. He was just watching TV when the door opened. The little girl was standing there and told him to get out. Now, this was a surprise to all of us kids she had never spoken to any of us.

My brother returned home his wife refused to come home until she could think about this situation more. The first thing my brother did was to nail the upstairs door shut. He had gone outside for something and came back when the dog bowls were moved. He knew that she did it because she had done things like this before. He was watching TV when it just went out, the dog bowls moved again. At this point, he was frustrated and asked her what she wanted. You see she only showed up once in awhile but not this many times in one night. Getting to the point, my brother was having some electrical issues I mean the TV then the stove and lights kept flickering and she still would not leave him alone.

We had an outside basement that you had to open the cellar doors that are against the ground. My brother went outside to see if something was wrong and went to the basement, to his surprise there was an electrical fire. He was able to get the fire out, but we are all sure that this girl was trying to warn him. I mean she was a part of our family for so long.

After this happened we decided to do some research on the house. We knew it was old because it had an old well under the living room floor. When we were kids, my parents replaced the floor in the living room and we used to throw coins in this 6x6 foot well. I never thought anything of it then but we started to wonder if somehow a child had fallen into the well and died. We only know that the house is over 100 years old. My brother has moved out of the house and it is going to be torn down.

I can only hope that someone finds this girl if she is in the well, and thank god she was their watching over us all those years. I hope she finds her way home soon.
