The love that never was
40The love that never was
My heart has been broken.
But I have have spoken.
I cannot live this way.
She smiles not for me.
The whole world can see.
I can never forget this day.
Alone in the shadow of night.
I deal with my plight.
The sound of my own cries chill me.
As I contemplate life.
Without a wife.
Her eyes, like the deep blue sea.
I scream in agony.
Of this great tragedy.
Of a love I never had.
To be so one sided.
How could I have been blinded.
It makes me very sad.
I have felt no greater pain.
But I have tried in vain.
To live life to the fullest.
But to be so alone.
Like that rare rare stone.
My life seems to be the dullest.
Without her, you see.
Life has no meaning to me.
Desperate to have love returned.
I will beg you Lord.
Please steer me toward.
A love that will never burn.
A flame so bright.
It will feel just right.
In your hands, I can not falter.
I wipe away my tears.
I come to grips with my fears.
Knowing, there will be no alter.
