In the past few weeks we all have been suffering from the price of fuel for our cars and many of us don't use the car so often. How can we reduce de CO2 emissions and don't spend that much money on fuel? Simple, you buy a hybrid car. This kind of cars works with less fuel than the usual ones and are combined with a gasoline-electric motor.

The Asian constructor Honda has the brilliant idea of stepping to the new century by building a hybrid car for young people; it's the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupé. Light, sporty and futuristic are the keywords. The design features an oversized front grille with small openings on each side of the front panel. The use of glass on the roof and hatchback carry the theme of air, light and spaciousness - as does the use of mesh materials in the interior. The instrumental panel is sleek and high-tech. The CR-Z clearly borrows its overall shape from the Honda CRX sports car, a version of the Civic that was produced from 1984 to 1991. The CRX used a small and light profile to translate directly into sporty and speedy. Think of the CR-Z Hybrid concept as CRX meets Insight, Honda's discontinued teardrop-shaped hybrid two-seater.

The car was already presented in 2007 at the Tokyo Motor Show and was a big success among the Asian population, now the big question remains: Can this car be a popular in the USA? My humble opinion is that this kind of car is not typical for American people. Americans like muscle cars like Chevys and so on, this Honda is lighter and hybrid and doesn´t have the power of a Chevy.

The car is expected in 2009 with 200,000 units, to be sold in that same year. Let's sit down and wait one more year and see how Honda did with the American market.
