The racist, ignorant, and just plain stupid
63All religions are good, it's societies which are evil
The Internet is a wonderful tool, but for some it is a tool to spread evil and hate to anyone they can. I cannot tell you the full extent of my anger when I see ignorance and racism being thrown around. I think everyone has known a religious or ethnically hateful person and then seen that it is something they were either taught, brought up in childhood.
It is for certain some people have had personal bad experience which has developed a hate inside them, but this does not give anyone the right to spread hate. I am a Catholic although not a "bible thump-er". Some people would say I am barely religious, which is just fine in my opinion, and If you feel that cramming your religion down someone Else's throat makes you a better person than My personal moral belief is this: I feel very sorry for your ignorance".
Here is the best way to describe my personal belief "I believe in mankind more than I will ever believe in any "god". Knowing that I will treat any Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Judaist or any other person from any other religion equally gives me a personal satisfaction that I can not even begin to describe. I was put on this earth as any other human being, and I have no right to judge or condemn other's because of their upbringing or beliefs"
Do I hate anyone? Of course I do, everyone hates someone! I hate all of those people who use one-sided arguments about why we should all hate a culture or creed as if they don't even deserve to be on this planet. We should all have know that as human beings we are ALL brothers and sisters mothers and fathers etc, etc. Similar to a "real" family we can't choose them, but we don't have to act like them.
Oh no, I must be a bad christian because the Muslims want to kill everyone and are going to take over the world. hmmmmm, Did you know that an evangelical group from the USA along with Canadian Christians went to the small village Samanthapettai and offered them aid if they would convert to Christianity. They had trucks of food and resources to help the people right there on site, but when the villagers refused to convert....the missionaries left and took everything with them. They let MY brothers and sisters die because they would not join MY religion. Disgusting.
This is not to bash Christianity, but only to show you that with an open mind and a little research you will see that the only bad guys are the people who take an extreme view of how everyone should be the same and follow the same rules. Can you admit the bad choices of (some) people and (some) actions of your own religion, and race or will you be blind and only admit the good things?
My point is that there is a fine line between good and evil, and one thing we can do to make this world a better place is to be open minded and aware of the wealth of information we have at our fingertips. Don't be a blind believer in propaganda and bullshit. Just be a good human being.

Yenseca,
It is very true that a lot of atrocities have been perpetuated in the name of "Christianity" your example sited being one of them, however, I agree with Rob's comments in describing a "true follower." I too believe in the inherent goodness of mankind, but know that the spark of divinity that is observed in any individual comes purely from the Creator Himself. Mankind must simply "choose the better part" and this is exactly what our journey here in this life is meant to prove. Your concerns are genuine and should be a cause for reflection in all of us, as His children. Thank you.
I looked into a couple of the sites that claim the missionaries left without distributing food. One says ALLEGED the other says it really happened. Both happen to be sites that promote Hinduism. I am not saying that it didn't happen, just saying that it might not have happened.
If you check things out on the interent you will find that Christians give more to charities than anyone else. http://www.philanthropy.com/free/articles/v19/i04/
Now with that out of the way, I like what the articles says. Racisim is extremely dangerous to those who it is pointed at. We must love them all no matter if they believe in Jesus or not. It isn't an easy task to undertake.
One thing I'm not sure about in your article is where you mentioned shoving beliefs down someone's throat. There are many beliefs thatw ant to be counted the same as the Christian beliefe, They want to be told they are following the same path or that their path is right even when they refuse to acknowledge Jesus Christ.
As a Christian, it is my duty and priviledge to spread the Gospel of Christ. This is not forcing Jesus down anyone's throat, but merely following the commandment Jesus gave.
I have added a link documentary about my referral to the conversion agenda in Thailand. I guess I should have posted this proof earlier. Also I do want to say my focus is not meant to be that religions and cultures do not give. Actually they do give a lot, but my point is that a gift is a voluntary act which does not require anything in return. Thanks for the open minded comments so far!
To add to Sir Dent's comment on obedience to Jesus' command to spread the Gospel, this is our mandate. As followers of Christ we MUST tell others about His love for them, for us, and how He has changed our life. The method of telling others can be abused for sure. But as a saint of old once said, "spread the Gospel, and if necessary, use words." Peace!

It is true that "believers" of certain faiths lack the very essence of the faith itself. This is hypocrisy and is a true evil in the sight of God. The true follower of any faith honestly adheres to equality for all persons regardless of faith, politics, or whatever else. Unfortunately many of your comments are correct and indeed disturbing for a lot of us. We are not the judge or jury. We should all operate on the premise of living for an audience of ONE, God! I appreciate your candor and encourage you in your walk. Peace!
