The truth about Travelencia (or how not to get lost in the matrix)
68Per the Travelencia website:
"Travelencia offers the most affordable, most powerful, fully automated, home-based career opportunity ever offered!"
To be a member costs you $19.95 or $49.95 per month. The only difference I can see in the two plans is the available financing for your trip, either $2,000 or $5,000. There is also a $50.00 one time fee when joining.
They offer four ways to make money, residual income from a 4 x 6 forced matrix, fast start bonuses, matching bonuses and bonus pools.
4 x 6 Forced Matrix
Do not be fooled by spillover in a matrix.
And here is the reason why.
You fill your first row with 4 people, either with spillover or personal sales. Then you help fill the next row (spillover) with 16 people and so and so. The heavy hitters will easily fill their first three rows (84 people total) before you even hear about it. They may even push down to the fourth level (340 people total). They take the fast start bonuses and they have kick started their matrix to push them into all of the other available bonuses.
You come along and get signed up on their fifth level which means that at best you may see spillover in a few years down the road unless the person directly above you is also working. The first three rows are usually filled with insiders of the heavy hitter who are along for the ride and will probably do no work. At most the heavy hitter will spill over 4 signups to you but that could take years.
In a matrix like this you are going to need 30 to 40 recruits to break even. Of course this does not include the other revenue sources but my point is you are not going to make money with just 4 personals.
The moral of the story, never look up but rather look down, and if you do not see anything get working :)
So what is the solution to this?
Pick your team first. Just do not sign up with Travelencia and be assigned randomly to someone. Investigate your sponsor. Call them. Google them. See if they are someone you would want to work with. If they make all kinds of promises about building your team for you or giving away $1,000's of dollars, guess what, run.
Fast Start Bonuses
Fast start bonuses are only paid for those you personally sponsor, not from spillovers. The money is paid out of the $50 sign-up fee. You will be paid $20 on those you personally sponsor and $8 for each one they personally sign up down three levels.
Matching bonuses
Matching bonuses are only paid on those members you personally sponsor, not spillovers. They refer to these as "House Bonus", "Car Bonus", "Lifestyle Bonus" and "Retirement Bonus". You do not actually receive a house but rather a 100% bonus on those you sponsor down three levels: 50%, 25% and 10%. The "retirement bonus" is based on the concept of saving 10% of your income for retirement.
Bonus Pools
Bonus pools are paid based on your rank. There are four ranks progressively earning 2% at each level for a total of 8%. The bonus pools are paid out of total volume. To even qualify you have to at least personally sponsor 4 people who in turn sponsor 4 people. You only have to sponsor 4 people, the rest can be spillover, your sales, or sales of the people you sponsor. As your business grows you move up in rank.
.
Conclusion
Do not sign up with Travelencia unless you are willing to work. If you have a good team then concentrate on personally sponsoring 4 members. It is ok to reject someone if you do not think they can duplicate.
Think of it like you are hiring someone to work for you. You are willing to train but if they end up sitting at their desk all day doing nothing then that is exactly what they are worth, nothing.
If you have never been successful with network marketing it is crucial that you join the right team.
Does your sponsor have a support website?
Do they provide training?
Do they support your marketing efforts?
Are they one phone call away?
It is tough when you first start in network marketing and the first question I hear over and over is "Where do I start?". A good upline support team will answer that question for you.
I see many new network marketers trying to do too much too soon. They will buy all kinds of training and only read half of it at most and apply very little of it. Or they will go out and try to sell the opportunity to people.
Never sell the opportunity.
Instead, provide a solution to someone's problems.
How do you do this?
First, brand yourself online by having your own personal webpage or blog. Open a MySpace, Facebook, Linkedin and any other social networking site and setup a profile. Then write articles that will attract those looking to make money online, or some other niche area specific to the opportunity.
Another method is the old fashioned way. Buy leads and call people. But remember, never sell the opportunity. Instead ask questions, listen, and then have the person take some sort of action. When I call people I ask them about their goals, listen to see if they are someone I would want to work with, and then ask if it is ok if I follow up with an email that contains a link to an audio or video presentation that I produced.
So, do not sign up with Travelencia just because of all of the hype. Instead ask yourself if you are willing to work for your dreams.

You are absolutely right and why I pointed it out. If you try to live off passive income with Travelencia, ie not sponsor anyone, then it will not work.
On the other hand, if you are able to sponsor and since discount travel is a real product, you could do well.
My idea is how to do it as a team, a true team, not a fictional team if you go in alone and signup under someone.
There is nothing new in this concept. Right now there are successful teams making good money online. They do not advertise because they are closed groups. Many times they are their lifelong friends or people they meet online that they trust.

I think 40 recruits to "break even" won't work. It's simply not duplicatable.
Network Marketing is not only a "numbers game", it's also relationship building process. Without duplication, it's simply "all on you".
I wish you the best!
