The Crazyness Of Cats

Ben Jr and Shadow
My cat Shadow and the neighbors cat Ben Jr are both beautiful cats but boy can they be frustrating.
While working on the computer the other day, I heard this hellacious cat fight. Went to check it out and stop it. I stopped short at the front door.
Our whole door is a window and long narrow ones on either side. Looking through the narrow window, Shadow was crouched as close to the house as she could get and Ben Jr was advancing up the stairs growling and hissing at her. Then he attacked her unmercifully.
I opened the front door yelling and clapping my hands to brake them up. Shadow escaped running across the lawn, but Ben Jr was right behind her still. I put something on my feet to go check for them, but couldn't find them.
Ben Jr is big and lumber some. No front claws, but that doesn't seem to matter to him. There was a lot of fur on the front step carpet. It was flying everywhere during the fight.
Eventually a few minutes later, I saw Shadow on the ramp to the shed. She allowed me to pat her head and know she was okay.
My cats have been acting very strange for a couple of weeks. Not wanting to come into the house at all. We started making sure there was food in the garage. They have a cat door into the garage with water to make sure it is always available to them.
Since, the fight Shadow has been each night. Black Beauty is still being stubborn, but comes in for her snack. Go figure...has to have a bit of snack.

Our black one is like that. She comes to the door and if hubby opens it she won't come in goes the other way. The other one likes to scratch like crazy to come in then run just to see how many times you will do it. Then she comes in. My elderly neighbor was here one day and was amazed by their actions, thought they were sooo funny.
We recently brought in an adorable little kitten who is growing into a lovely young cat and I'm checking out cat info as I am not a cat person. People say keep the cat indoors all the time, but it seems cruel. If I had to spend my life indoors all the time, I'd go nuts. But they say they get wild.Oh well, your cats sound like they are having a good time being animals outdoors instead of fat, lazy, and pampered.
Yes Dolores Monet these cats are amazing to me. Very strange at times but since we are empty nesters our lives revolve around them. They still do well on their own. We are just away a few days visiting grandchildren in the next state and left food and water in the garage and they did just fine. Thank you for commenting on them.
How strange, my cat's have been indoor cats their whole lives, then suddenly this summer all they want to do is go outside. At first it was constant and they'd be quite determined about it. Not they've settled back to only being out a short bit at a time. Hmm. Wonderful piece, I so enjoyed this!
Thank you Frieda for commenting...cats are amusing but strange pets. Lately, my two have been very friendly which is veeery unusual for them.
